Let us come together in prayer for your son, who is in need of deliverance from alcohol and the wrong choices that have led to depression. We stand on the promise that "if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed." John 8:36 (WEB)
Firstly, we commend you for reaching out and acknowledging the power of prayer and the kindness of God. It is important to note that freedom and deliverance are found in the name of Jesus Christ. It is by His name that we have access to God the Father, and it is by His name that we are saved. As it is written, "in none other is there salvation, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" Acts 4:12 (WEB)
Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear son who is battling with alcohol and the consequences of wrong choices. Lord, we know that "all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God" Romans 3:23 (WEB), but we also know that You are a God of forgiveness, redemption, and restoration.
We pray that You would set him free from the bondage of alcohol. Cast out any spirit of addiction and depression, and let Your Holy Spirit fill the void. Help him to make wise choices that align with Your will for his life.
We also pray for his emotional and mental well-being. Comfort him in his depression, and remind him that You are close to the brokenhearted, and save those who are crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:18 (WEB)
Surround him with godly influences, that he may be encouraged and supported in his journey to freedom. Help him to seek God with his whole heart, and to trust in the Savior of his soul, Jesus Christ.
We ask this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
Be encouraged, for "the prayer of the righteous is very powerful in its effect." James 5:16 (WEB) Trust in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him to work in your son's life. Continue to pray for him, and do not grow weary, for in due season, you will reap a harvest of breakthrough. Galatians 6:9 (WEB)
If your son has not already done so, encourage him to call upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, to turn from his sins, and to trust in Him as his Savior. It is only by the name of Jesus that we are saved, and it is only by His name that we have access to God the Father. Remind him that God loves him and desires a personal relationship with him through Jesus Christ.
