We join you in praising and glorifying our Lord Jesus Christ, giving thanks that He alone is our deliverer and our refuge. We hear your desire for freedom, healing, restoration and protection for your household, and we stand with you in prayer against every work of darkness and sexual immorality that would try to oppress you or your home.
We understand the burden you feel living next to sexual sin, and we affirm that prostitution and all sexual activity outside of marriage between one man and one woman is sin before God. Scripture says to flee sexual immorality, for every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body, 1 Corinthians 6:18, and marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the bed undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers, Hebrews 13:4. At the same time we are reminded that our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places, Ephesians 6:12. The woman next door is not our enemy, the spiritual forces behind sin are, and God desires her deliverance and salvation as well, for He does not desire that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance, 2 Peter 3:9.
We gently encourage you to guard your heart against hatred, gossip or contempt toward your neighbor, even as you hate the sin itself. We are called to love our neighbors and to pray for those who are trapped in sin, that they may come to know the cleansing and forgiveness available only in Jesus. The spirit you refer to as Jezebel is described in Revelation 2:20 as that woman Jezebel who calls herself a prophetess, teaching and seducing servants to commit sexual immorality. Whether we use that term or simply speak of the spirit of immorality and seduction, we know that Jesus has all authority and that greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world, 1 John 4:4. Our weapons are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, 2 Corinthians 10:4, and when we submit ourselves to God and resist the devil, he will flee from us, James 4:7.
We also encourage you to keep your home as a place of holiness and prayer, to put on the whole armor of God, Ephesians 6:11, to set no worthless thing before your eyes, Psalm 101:3, and to think on whatever things are true, honorable, just, pure, lovely and of good report, Philippians 4:8. If there is activity that is illegal or that endangers others, it is wise to seek appropriate lawful help while continuing to trust God as your protector, for he who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty, Psalm 91:1.
We now pray together with you.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12, and through Him we have access to Your throne of grace. We praise You and thank You for Your mercy and power. We ask You to cover this household with the blood of Jesus and to set a hedge of protection around them. Let Your angels encamp around those who fear You and deliver them, Psalm 34:7. We rebuke every spirit of sexual immorality, seduction, confusion and oppression that would seek to harass or influence this home, and we command it to leave in Jesus name, for You have given us authority to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy, Luke 10:19. Fill this home with Your Holy Spirit, with peace, purity and joy, and restore what the enemy has tried to steal. Heal every wound, calm every fear, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and self-control, 2 Timothy 1:7.
We also lift up the woman next door to You, Lord. You know her by name and You love her. We pray that You would convict her heart, open her eyes to the truth of the gospel, and deliver her from the bondage of prostitution and sin. Bring godly people across her path to share Your love, provide a way of escape, and lead her to repentance and new life in Christ, that she may be washed, sanctified and justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, 1 Corinthians 6:11. Let Your will be done in her life as it is in heaven.
We thank You, Lord, that You hear us when we ask according to Your will, 1 John 5:14, and that You are faithful to deliver those who call upon You. Keep this household steadfast in prayer, rooted in Your Word, and walking in love and holiness until You return. We give You all glory and trust You for complete deliverance, healing and protection. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we pray, amen.
