Deliverance Prayer

Beloved of All
Lord Jesus,

I praise you, and thank you. I glorify you. Lord Jesus I ask that you place a shield of protection over my son, standing on Isaiah 54:17. I ask that you send your angels to encamp around him, standing on Psalm 91. Lord Jesus I ask that you root out all bad influences out of his life, standing on Jeremiah 12:14. Lord Jesus I ask that you lift standards for my son against any attack, standing on Isaiah 59:19. Lord Jesus I ask that you place the blood of Jesus in-between my son and my brother, standing on Revelations 12:11. Asking Lord Jesus that you cancel the principality working thru my brother, standing on Colossians 2:15. Lord Jesus scatter all my brothers plans against my son, standing on Exodus 23:27.

I cover my son and this prayer with the precious blood of Jesus, standing on Revelations 12:11.

We join you in lifting up your son before the throne of grace and we stand with you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ for his protection and deliverance.

We hear your heart as a parent crying out for your son and we commend you for bringing him under the covering of the Lord and for standing on the promises of God's Word. We agree with you that no weapon that is formed against him will prevail as it is written in Isaiah 54:17, and that when the enemy comes in like a flood, Yahweh's Spirit will lift up a standard against him, Isaiah 59:19. We thank God that He will put His angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways, Psalm 91:11, and that we overcome the accuser by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of our testimony, Revelation 12:11.

We also hear your deep concern regarding your brother and his influence and plans against your son. We want to gently encourage you in this area with biblical truth. Our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places, Ephesians 6:12. Your brother himself is not the enemy, but the spiritual forces that may be working through him are. For this reason we must be careful not to hold hatred or unforgiveness in our hearts toward him, even as we pray for protection. Jesus calls us to love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you, Matthew 5:44, and to pray for that principality to be disarmed, for He disarmed the principalities and the powers, making a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in the cross, Colossians 2:15.

We also gently correct the idea of using Scripture as a formula to claim or stand on. The Word of God is not an incantation but living truth that we trust and obey. We do not need to bind God to act by reciting verses, but we humbly submit to His sovereign will, trusting that He hears us when we pray according to His will, 1 John 5:14. Your faith in His promises is precious and we join our faith with yours, trusting not in the words themselves but in the One who spoke them.

We pray together for both your son and your brother, asking God to bring deliverance, protection, and reconciliation where it is His will.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12, and through Him we have access to Your throne. We praise You and thank You and glorify Your holy name. Lord Jesus, we place Your son into Your hands and ask that You place a shield of protection around him. Let no weapon formed against him prosper and let every tongue that rises against him in judgment be condemned. Send Your angels to encamp around him and guard him in all his ways. Root out every bad influence from his life, for You have said You will uproot those who do harm to Your people, Jeremiah 12:14. Lift up a standard against every attack of the enemy and let Your Spirit drive the adversary back.

We plead the blood of Jesus over this precious son and over this prayer, knowing that the blood of the Lamb has overcome the enemy. We ask that You place a hedge between this son and any harm intended by his uncle, and we ask You to cancel every assignment of the enemy working through strife in this family. Scatter every evil plan as You promised to send confusion before the enemy and to trouble those who oppose Your purposes, Exodus 23:27. Disarm every principality and power that seeks to steal, kill and destroy in this family.

Father, we also lift up this brother to You. We ask that You convict his heart, bring him to repentance and to salvation in Jesus Christ, and turn his heart toward love and peace. Help this mother to forgive as You have forgiven us, for if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, Matthew 6:14. Fill her heart with peace and remove all fear, for God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control, 2 Timothy 1:7. Let this son grow in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, Ephesians 6:4, and let this whole family be brought under Your lordship.

We trust You to complete the good work You have begun and we rest in Your faithful protection. In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ our Lord we pray, amen.

We hear how much you love your son and how faithfully you are lifting him up. It is a beautiful thing to see a parent standing in the gap like this, asking for the Lord's covering and presence around your child.

We understand the worry you feel about your brother's influence and the desire to see every harmful plan come to nothing. In those moments when concern feels heavy, it helps to remember our battle is ultimately the Lord's and our safety rests in Christ himself. We can pray with confidence without living in fear, and we can trust God to work in ways we cannot see while we stay faithful in what is ours to do.

One steady next step that often helps is to keep your daily prayers simple and consistent, and to invite a trusted pastor or a couple of mature believers who know you both to pray alongside you. Having others with you not only strengthens your own heart but also gives you wise counsel about loving boundaries with your brother as you continue to pray for him as well.

Father, in Jesus' name we bring this son before You and ask for Your hand of protection and guidance over his life. Surround him with Your peace, draw him close to You, and lead him away from what would harm him. Give this parent wisdom, rest and assurance as they trust You, and work in this family for healing and wholeness according to Your will. Amen.

Your prayer for your son has been heard, and we join you in bringing him before the throne of grace with thanksgiving for the mercies you have already praised.

There is comfort in knowing that deliverance is of the Lord and that it is by divine power alone that any soul is loosed from spiritual bondage. It is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy. When any man is saved from the pit, whether from sin, from evil company, or from the attacks of the enemy, it is the Lord Jesus who loosens the captive, for He has found a ransom. The prisoner ready to go down to the pit hears the gracious word, Deliver him, for I have found a ransom, and in that blood, shed once for all, we have our hope.

We lift up your son before our heavenly Father and ask that the Lord would be gracious unto him. May the Lord keep back his soul from the pit and his life from perishing by the sword. We pray that He who has delivered us from the guilt of sin would also deliver your son from the power of darkness, for deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin, and we must look to our heavenly Father altogether and alone for it.

In the name of Jesus Christ, our only Savior, we ask that the Lord would place His shield about your son, that no weapon formed against him shall prosper, and that He would give His angels charge to encamp around him and keep him in all his ways. We ask that the Lord would root out every evil influence that would entangle him, and lift up a standard against every assault of the enemy when he comes in like a flood. We pray that the precious blood of Jesus, by which we overcome, would stand between your son and all harm intended by others, and that every principality and power that seeks his hurt would be spoiled and made a show of openly by the cross of Christ. We ask that the Lord would scatter every plan formed against him and make the way of those who plot evil to be confounded, for the Lord still looks down from the height of His sanctuary upon His troubled ones, and like as a father pities his children, so the Lord pities them that fear Him.

And while we pray thus earnestly against the designs of men, we would remember that our afflictions, though they may come distinctly from man as the result of malice, yet do not spring out of the dust, but are permitted by the Lord who sits as a Refiner at the door of the furnace. For this reason we may wisely moderate our anger against second causes, and leave vengeance and justice in the hands of Him who judges righteously, asking not for the harm of any man, but for the deliverance and salvation of all, and for the peace of your household. May the Lord turn the heart of your brother toward that which is good, and if it be His will, bring reconciliation where there has been strife, as He once made Esau to fall upon the neck of Jacob in peace.

We pray that your son, being kept and delivered, may live and declare the works of the Lord, and that you, having tasted this deliverance, may go forth to help tear others from the power of the same enemy.

We cover your son and your household in prayer with thanksgiving, trusting not in our much asking, but in the ransom which God has provided in His Son. May the Lord grant you to see His hand and to rejoice in His free grace, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
