Deliverance Prayer

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Lord Jesus,

I praise you, and thank you. I glorify you. Lord Jesus I ask that you humble my aunt ### and her hatred towards me and the members of my household, rebuking all the ways in which she is being used by Satan, standing on Zechariah 3:2. Lord Jesus I also ask that you remove her influence of hatred off of people bringing down the negative strongholds of strife she wants to create, standing on 2 Corinthians 10:3-5. I cover this prayer with the precious blood of Jesus, standing on Revelations 12:11. In Jesus name I pray and ask. Amen.

We stand with you in this spiritual battle, lifting up your aunt and the strife she has sown. The Word of God is clear: "The Lord rebuke you, Satan!" (Zechariah 3:2 WEB). We declare that no weapon formed against you or your household shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we take authority over every spirit of hatred, division, and strife in the mighty name of Jesus.

We rebuke the enemy’s influence over your aunt, for "the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God" (2 Corinthians 10:4-5 WEB). We pray that her heart be softened, her mind renewed, and her eyes opened to the truth of Christ’s love. May she be delivered from the snares of the devil, who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10).

We cover you, your household, and this situation in the precious blood of Jesus, for "they overcame him because of the Lamb’s blood, and because of the word of their testimony" (Revelation 12:11 WEB). We plead the blood over every word spoken in hatred, every thought of division, and every attempt to sow discord. Let the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

Father, we ask that You break every chain of bitterness and unforgiveness in this family. Replace hatred with love, strife with peace, and division with unity. May Your Holy Spirit move powerfully, convicting hearts and drawing all involved into repentance and reconciliation. We declare that no weapon formed against this family shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment shall be condemned (Isaiah 54:17).

Lord, we also pray for your protection over this household. Surround them with Your angels, shield them from the enemy’s attacks, and fill their home with Your presence. Let Your light dispel every darkness, and may Your love cast out all fear (1 John 4:18).

We stand on the truth that "if we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9 WEB). We pray that your aunt would come to a place of repentance, turning away from the works of the flesh and walking in the Spirit (Galatians 5:16). May she experience the freedom that comes only through Jesus Christ, for "if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed" (John 8:36 WEB).

In the name of Jesus, we command every spirit of hatred, strife, and division to leave this situation now. We declare that this family is covered by the blood of Jesus, and no weapon formed against them shall prosper. We pray for restoration, healing, and unity, all for Your glory.

Amen.

It is so exhausting to be on the receiving end of sustained hostility from a family member, and we can hear how much this pattern weighs on you and your household. Walking through a season like this can feel isolating, but you are not standing alone. When we face relational turmoil that seems to have a spiritual edge, we remember that our battle is not ultimately against flesh and blood, and God sees every hidden thing. We are grateful you brought this here rather than carrying it by yourself.

One of the things that helps in these situations is to anchor the prayer in community. When a particular relationship is causing deep strife, involving a trusted, spiritually mature person from your own church to join you in ongoing prayer adds a layer of support and protection. Deliverance work, or even extended spiritual wrestling over a relationship, is not meant to be done in isolation, and a prayer partner who knows you can help you stay grounded and clear-headed when things feel intense.

For now, we simply pray with you:

Lord Jesus, you are the Prince of Peace. We come alongside this household and ask you to shelter each person from the corrosive effects of strife and hatred. Guard their minds and hearts, and give them rest from the turmoil these attacks produce. We ask you to disarm every scheme meant to sow division, and we ask that your justice and mercy prevail in this family. Grant wisdom for every practical step they need to take to protect their home and their wellbeing, and if it is your will, we ask you to awaken genuine humility, repentance, and peace in the ###’s heart. Above all, may your presence in their home be more real to them than the voice of the accuser. In your mighty name, Jesus, amen.

You speak of your aunt's hatred, and I must remind you of the golden chain of our religion, the spirit of Christ is love, and wherever He governs, love reigns. You have no right to excrete your hatred upon any creature, however fallen or debased, however much she may irritate your temper or injure your estate. Still, hatred is a power of manhood to be exercised in the fear of God. You have good reason to hate all evil, greater reason than ever the most injured man could bring forward for the hatred of his enemies. Consider what evil has already done to your aunt's soul, what a world of mischief sin has brought into her heart. Show your hatred to evil by active efforts in putting it down, distribute Bibles, scatter the Word of God, send missionaries, and let your righteous hatred burn against the sin that enslaves her, not against the woman herself.

You pray for deliverance and stand upon Scripture. Remember that the Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble. Picture a people who have gathered in their harvest, yet raiders come, and they flee to the mountain fastness. You have had disturbance in your family, war within and war without, but you must run into your strong tower, for His name is Jehovah-Shalom, the Lord sends peace. It is Christ that died, yes, rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. Who can harm us? Let your aunt have permission to do what she will, what is there that she can do? You are in the hands of Christ. When He washed you in His precious blood and adopted you into His family, was it not all goodness? Strongholds are not like temporary camps, they endure from generation to generation. Remember what brave Luther did when storms raged; he fled to his stronghold and sang, "A mighty fortress is our God."

But I call you higher still, to the beauty of a true intercessor. Jeremiah interceded for the people, and you must discover the reason why. It is God who writes intercession upon men's hearts. There is no power like it, the secret springs that move the puppets of earth are the prayers of God's believing people. When a man has his heart set upon this blessed work, it makes him quick to seize every advantage in pleading with God. See here: Jesus was loveable, altogether lovely, yet He met with hatred without a cause. They hated Him when He said, "Thy sins be forgiven thee." They hated Him even when they would have made Him king, kept under only by loaves and fishes. Did He come to die that sinners might not die? Was that a cause of hatred? Ought your aunt to hate the Saviour because He came to quench the flames of hell for her? Yet she is blinded. Your duty is not to pray against her but to pursue her with persistent intercession, yes, even until her soul has passed beyond the reach of change, pursue her still.

The Holy Spirit makes intercession for us in a proper manner, for we know not what to pray for as we ought. He makes intercession for the saints, but His intercession is not in or for the unregenerate. Is your aunt a saint? You must first pray for her conversion, that she become a child of God, or she cannot feel the Spirit's intercession within her. Unless we are the sons of God, the Spirit's indwelling is not ours. Pray for her soul, that she be delivered from worse enemies and saved by a greater salvation. Magnify the Lord's choice favor toward you, and in your prayer with your household bring all your troubles before God, mentioning your aunt if you will, and all the expected difficulties. You have been delivered from the archers of discord, be thankful and let that peace rule.

I remember Samuel. He made intercession even for Saul, who had turned aside and become a traitor. One whole night he spent in earnest entreaty, though it was all in vain, yet many a time he sighed for the rejected prince. What provocation he endured! The people slighted him, yet he said, "God forbid that I should sin against the Lord in ceasing to pray for you." You feel the sting of your aunt's hatred, but can you not spend even one night in earnest entreaty for her soul? Lay hold upon the horns of the altar and plead the precious blood. Tell the Lord you have stayed at the brook Jabbok, saying, "Lord, give deliverance from her whom I think bloodthirsty." And you may yet cross the brook and meet your Esau, and she may fall upon your neck and kiss you. This deliverance comes when the Lamb is slain. Egypt may represent states of sorrow and oppression, but He makes deliverance effectual, He brings them forth with silver and gold. And you must take not an atom of the honor to yourself; it is free grace alone. Pray on, then, with hatred only for the sin, and love for the sinner, trusting your stronghold, and persisting in intercession until the Lord sends peace.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

When having become virtuous we are persecuted by the wicked, let us not be distracted or angry. For this is the natural course of things, and everywhere virtue is wont to engender hatred from wicked men. If your aunt hates you because you desire to live properly, do not be surprised. Christ Himself said, “I have given them Thy word; and the world hath hated them.” This is a mark of virtue, not a cause for alarm.

But see that you do not return hatred for hatred. The passions of strife and envying arise from a depraved moral choice, not from the flesh. Do not let her sin provoke you to sin. Instead, master your anger and refuse to give way to unworthy passion, even though she may be acting as an enemy. Remember how Christ meekly bore with those who counseled Him improperly, though He knew their intentions were not good. He rebuked them with gentleness, not with fury.

You ask God to humble her and rebuke Satan’s use of her. Yet consider: the devil assaults most when he sees people left alone and by themselves. Therefore, do not isolate yourself in this conflict. Flock together with fellow believers, that you may not be open to his attacks. And if you must speak to your aunt, do not do so from a desire to win a gratuitous enmity. Let your words be those of one who cares for her salvation, not one who seeks to dominate. A rebuke given in love may sting, but it will not make her hate you as a foe; rather, she may come to consider you more venerable than a parent.

Above all, do not be troubled that you are hated for righteousness’ sake. Christ told His disciples that this was a special subject of joy, for so they would share His sufferings. The servant is not greater than the lord. If the world hates you, know that it hated Him first. Endure it with patience, and do not let your prayer become a weapon of wrath. The deliverance you seek is not merely the removal of her influence, but your own victory over the anger that her hatred might kindle in you.

You are right to bring this before the Lord in prayer. When strife enters a family, it can feel like a floodgate has been opened. The beginning of strife is indeed like letting out water; what starts as a trickle can quickly become a torrent that threatens to overwhelm everyone involved. I have long observed that there are some who seem to love strife, but wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable and gentle. Your first battle is to guard your own heart against that same spirit of contention, lest you find yourself caught in a trap you cannot escape.

Your request for deliverance is really a request for entrance. When the power of Jesus Christ truly enters a life or a situation, the darkness has no choice but to flee. Light and darkness cannot coexist. Rather than focusing all your energy on what you want removed, her hatred, the strongholds, her influence, let your prayer shift toward asking the Father to bring the full, penetrating light of His Son into your aunt’s heart and into every relationship she has touched. The purpose of prayer is not ultimately to get our will done, but to align ourselves with what God is doing and to see His kingdom come.

Stand firmly on the finished work of Jesus. The enemy may hurl all kinds of fiery darts and accusations, but your faith in what Christ has already accomplished keeps you secure. The effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous person accomplishes much because it rises from a place of deep reliance on God, not from a desire to simply win a conflict. Remember the command to continue in prayer with thanksgiving. Persistence is not about changing God’s mind; it is about waiting on His perfect timing for a greater work that will bring glory to Him alone. He has been your hope from youth, and He remains your deliverer now.

We are deeply grateful that you entrusted us with the privilege of standing in prayer with you for your aunt’s deliverance. It has been on our hearts to continue lifting her before the throne of grace, asking our Lord Jesus to break every chain of hatred, strife, and spiritual strongholds that the enemy has used to divide and harm. We have prayed in agreement with you, claiming the promises in Zechariah 3:2, 2 Corinthians 10:3-5, and Revelation 12:11, declaring that the blood of Jesus covers and protects your household from every scheme of the devil.

If the Lord has moved in this situation and you’ve seen His hand at work—whether in softened hearts, restored peace, or visible change—we would be overjoyed to hear a praise report so we can rejoice with you. If, however, the battle still rages and you feel the need for continued intercession, we encourage you to post this request again. We are committed to standing with you in prayer until the victory is fully manifested.

May the Holy Spirit strengthen you, fill you with His peace, and remind you that no weapon formed against you shall prosper. Keep pressing into the Lord, for He is faithful, and His love never fails. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
