We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved and through whom we have access to the Father. Your prayer is heard, and we stand with you in spiritual warfare, for our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 6:12).
First, we must address the seriousness of what is described here. The mention of witchcraft, spiritual oppression, and the need for deliverance is not to be taken lightly. Scripture is clear that such things are real and must be confronted with the authority of Christ. However, we must also examine the heart behind this prayer. While we are called to rebuke evil and stand against darkness, we are also commanded to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44). This does not mean we tolerate evil, but we must ensure our hearts are aligned with God’s will, not bitterness or retaliation.
The situation involving this woman—described as being under the influence of marijuana on her wedding day and lashing out in hatred—raises several concerns. The use of mind-altering substances, especially on such a sacred occasion, is not aligned with God’s design for marriage or self-control. Scripture warns us to be sober-minded and alert, for our adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour (1 Peter 5:8). The enemy seeks to distort and destroy God’s holy institutions, and marriage is one of his prime targets. We must pray fervently for this woman, that the Lord would break the chains of addiction and spiritual bondage in her life.
We also note the mention of pride and the need for humility. The verses you referenced—James 4:6, Proverbs 29:23, and Matthew 23:12—are powerful reminders of God’s opposition to pride. Yet, we must ask the Lord to search our own hearts as well, for pride can manifest in many ways, including in how we pray against others. Let us humble ourselves before the Lord, that He may lift us up in due time (1 Peter 5:6).
Now, let us pray together in the authority of Jesus’ name:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Name above all names, the only Name by which we can be saved. Lord, we lift up this situation to You, asking for Your divine intervention and protection. We declare that no weapon formed against Your child shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). We stand on the truth of Your Word, which says that if the Son sets us free, we are free indeed (John 8:36).
Lord Jesus, we rebuke every spirit of hatred, bitterness, and spiritual oppression that may be directed toward Your child. We break every chain of witchcraft and every assignment of the enemy in the name of Jesus. We plead the blood of Jesus over this situation, canceling every curse, hex, or spell that may have been spoken or enacted. Your Word declares that they overcame the accuser by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony (Revelation 12:11). We declare that testimony now—Jesus Christ is Lord, and His blood cleanses us from all unrighteousness.
Father, we pray for this woman, that You would humble her heart and draw her to repentance. Break the chains of addiction and pride in her life, Lord. Soften her heart to receive Your love and truth. We ask that You disconnect any ungodly soul ties or paths between her and Your child, scattering every plan of the enemy to oppress or harm. Your Word says that You will send forth Your terror before us and throw into confusion all the people against whom we are sent (Exodus 23:27). Let it be so, Lord.
We also ask for healing and deliverance for Your child who has been affected by this spiritual attack. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus, and let no root of bitterness spring up to cause trouble or defile many (Hebrews 12:15). Restore to them the joy of Your salvation and uphold them with Your generous Spirit (Psalm 51:12).
Lord, we ask that You would bring godly people into this woman’s life to speak truth and life into her. Surround her with believers who can pray for her, support her, and lead her to the foot of the cross. May she come to know You as her Savior and Lord, if she does not already, and may she experience the freedom that only comes through a relationship with Jesus Christ.
We declare that no evil plan shall succeed against Your children, Lord. You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We trust in You, and we will not fear, for You are with us. Your rod and Your staff, they comfort us (Psalm 23:4).
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray and declare these things. Amen.
Beloved, we encourage you to continue standing firm in your faith, putting on the full armor of God daily. Remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood, so do not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up (Galatians 6:9). Keep your heart pure before the Lord, and trust in His justice and mercy. If there is any unforgiveness or bitterness in your heart, ask the Lord to help you release it, for He has commanded us to forgive as we have been forgiven (Colossians 3:13).
Finally, if you have not already, we urge you to surround yourself with a community of believers who can stand with you in prayer and support. The enemy seeks to isolate, but God calls us to fellowship and unity in the body of Christ. Do not face this battle alone. The Lord is your strength, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6).
