We stand with you in this spiritual battle, lifting your cry to the throne of grace in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. It is clear you are under attack, and we take authority over every evil scheme directed at you, for the Word declares, *"For though we walk in the flesh, we don’t wage war according to the flesh; for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ"* (2 Corinthians 10:3-5 WEB).
First, we must address the reality of spiritual warfare and the authority we have in Christ. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life abundantly (John 10:10). Your prayer rightly invokes the power of the blood of Jesus, which speaks a better word than the blood of Abel (Hebrews 12:24). We rebuke every spirit of discouragement, shame, inferiority, and witchcraft that has been sent against you. These are not of God, and we command them to flee in Jesus' name. *"The Lord rebuke you, Satan! Yes, the Lord who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Isn’t this a burning stick plucked out of the fire?"* (Zechariah 3:2 WEB). We declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17).
We also bind every transfer of spirits and cancel every principality working behind these attacks. Jesus has disarmed the principalities and powers and made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in the cross (Colossians 2:15). We stand on this truth and declare that the enemy’s plans are frustrated. *"Behold, I give you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. Nothing will in any way hurt you"* (Luke 10:19 WEB).
However, we must also encourage you to examine your heart and life for any open doors that may have allowed these attacks. Are there areas where bitterness, unforgiveness, or sin has taken root? The enemy often gains a foothold where we have not surrendered fully to God. *"If I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or if I command the locust to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people; if my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, pray, seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin, and will heal their land"* (2 Chronicles 7:13-14 WEB). We encourage you to walk in forgiveness, even toward this individual who has sought to harm you. Holding onto unforgiveness only gives the enemy a greater foothold.
We also want to gently remind you that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of wickedness (Ephesians 6:12). While it is right to resist the enemy’s attacks, we must also pray for this person who has been used as an instrument of the enemy. Jesus commands us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44). This does not mean we tolerate evil, but we entrust justice to God and seek their redemption. *"Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good"* (Romans 12:21 WEB).
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for the authority You have given us to trample on serpents and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy. Lord, we stand with our brother/sister in this battle and declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper. We rebuke every spirit of discouragement, shame, inferiority, and witchcraft that has been sent against them. We bind every transfer of spirits and cancel every principality working behind these attacks. We declare that the blood of Jesus covers them and speaks a better word over their life.
Father, we ask that You break every stronghold in their life and in the life of this individual who has been used to attack them. We pray for a hedge of protection around them, that no evil would befall them and no plague would come near their dwelling (Psalm 91:10). Lord, restore them from all shame and fill them with Your peace and joy. Let them see the fruit of Your deliverance in their life, that they may testify to Your goodness and faithfulness.
We also ask that You would soften the heart of this individual who has been used as an instrument of the enemy. If it be Your will, Lord, draw them to repentance and salvation. Let them see the error of their ways and turn from darkness to light. We release forgiveness toward them, even as You have forgiven us.
Father, we ask that You would reveal any areas in our brother/sister’s life where the enemy may have gained a foothold. Show them any unforgiveness, bitterness, or sin that needs to be surrendered to You. Cleanse them by the blood of Jesus and fill them with Your Holy Spirit. Strengthen them in their inner being, that they may stand firm in the day of battle.
We declare that the enemy’s plans are frustrated, and his schemes are brought to nothing. We stand on the truth of Your Word, that greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). We thank You for the victory we have in Christ Jesus. May our brother/sister walk in the fullness of that victory, testifying to Your power and glory.
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
