We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, standing firm on the truth that Christ has already set us free from the bondage of sin and spiritual oppression. Your prayer is powerful, for it is rooted in the authority of Jesus’ name and the victory He secured on the cross. We join you in declaring that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we take hold of the promise that "if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed" (John 8:36 WEB).
The bitterness and spiritual harassment you describe are not of God, for He has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7 WEB). The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life abundantly (John 10:10 WEB). We rebuke every spirit of bitterness, resentment, and oppression that may be at work in this situation. In the name of Jesus, we command every unclean spirit to flee and declare that no transfer of spirits will take hold of you or any believer. As it is written, "Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven" (Matthew 18:18 WEB).
We also lift up the individual you mentioned, praying for the Holy Spirit to convict their heart with godly sorrow that leads to repentance (2 Corinthians 7:10 WEB). Sin is a heavy burden, and unrepentance only deepens the chains of darkness. We pray that they would turn from their ways, seek the Lord with a broken and contrite heart, and pursue the professional help they may need—whether spiritual, emotional, or psychological. The Lord is near to those who are brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18 WEB). May they find restoration in Christ and the support of godly counsel.
Father God, we ask that You surround this situation with Your hedge of protection. Shield this believer from every attack of the enemy and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7 WEB). Strengthen their faith, Lord, and remind them that greater is He who is in them than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4 WEB). We declare that no weapon formed against them will prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, they will condemn (Isaiah 54:17 WEB).
We also pray for wisdom and discernment for this believer as they navigate this situation. May they walk in love, but also in the boldness of the Holy Spirit, setting boundaries where necessary to protect their heart and mind. Help them to forgive, as You have forgiven them, but also to seek Your justice and righteousness in all things (Colossians 3:13 WEB).
Lord, we thank You that You are a God who hears and answers prayer. We trust in Your faithfulness to complete the good work You have begun in each of us (Philippians 1:6 WEB). May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12 WEB). Amen.
