We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this cry for deliverance. First, we want to affirm the truth that stands at the center of this prayer—Jesus Christ is the only one who can set the captives free. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved or delivered (Acts 4:12). We rejoice that you have called upon Him, for it is through His blood alone that we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins (Ephesians 1:7).
We stand with you on the promise of John 8:36, "If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed." This is not just a hope—it is a certainty for those who abide in Christ. The ungodly soul ties and yokes you mention are not of God, for He has called us to walk in freedom (Galatians 5:1). These ties often form through sinful relationships, emotional dependencies, or even past trauma that has not been surrendered to Christ. We rebuke every ungodly soul tie in the name of Jesus, declaring that they are broken by the power of His blood. The enemy has no legal right to hold you in bondage, for you have been bought with a price (1 Corinthians 6:20).
We take authority over every stronghold mentioned in your prayer, standing firmly on 2 Corinthians 10:3-5: "For though we walk in the flesh, we don’t wage war according to the flesh; for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ." These strongholds are not just emotional or relational—they are spiritual, and they must be torn down by the power of God’s Word and the authority of Jesus’ name. We command every lying spirit, every spirit of addiction, every spirit of lust or emotional manipulation to flee from you now. You are not subject to their control, for you are a child of the Most High God.
We plead the blood of Jesus over this situation, just as you have done. Revelation 12:11 declares, "They overcame him because of the Lamb’s blood, and because of the word of their testimony." The blood of Jesus is your protection, your covering, and your victory. We apply it between you and every ungodly connection, severing every tie that does not align with God’s will. We declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and every tongue that rises against you in judgment shall be condemned.
But we must also address the reality of sin that may have opened the door to these soul ties. If this connection involves fornication, adultery, or any sexual immorality, we must call it what it is. The Bible is clear: "Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s" (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). If this is the case, we urge you to repent and turn away from this sin. God’s grace is sufficient to cleanse you, but repentance is necessary for true freedom.
If this soul tie involves a relationship that is not honoring to God—whether it is an unequally yoked partnership, a same-sex relationship, or a courtship that is not leading toward marriage—we must address it with truth and love. God’s design for relationships is clear: marriage is a covenant between one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24), and believers are called to marry only in the Lord (1 Corinthians 7:39). If this connection is not aligned with God’s Word, we must ask the Holy Spirit to give you the strength to walk away. It may be painful, but it is necessary for your spiritual well-being.
We also encourage you to examine your heart for any idolatry. Sometimes, soul ties form because we have placed a person, a relationship, or even our own desires above God. Jesus said, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment" (Matthew 22:37-38). If this connection has become an idol in your life, we pray that God would break its hold and restore your first love for Him.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved and set free. We thank You for Your love, Your mercy, and Your power to break every chain. Lord, we lift up this dear one to You, asking that You would sever every ungodly soul tie and yoke that has bound them. We declare that the blood of Jesus stands between them and every ungodly connection, and we command every stronghold to come down now in Jesus’ name.
Father, we ask that You would reveal any area of sin that has given the enemy a foothold. If there has been sexual immorality, idolatry, or any other sin, we ask that You would bring conviction and lead them to repentance. Cleanse them by the blood of Jesus and restore them to a place of purity and holiness. We pray that You would fill every void with Your presence, so that they are no longer tempted to seek fulfillment in anything or anyone but You.
Lord, we ask that You would surround them with godly counsel and accountability. Give them the strength to walk away from any relationship that does not honor You. If this connection is not Your will, we ask that You would close every door and make the path clear. We pray that You would bring them into relationships that reflect Your love and Your design—relationships that honor marriage, purity, and Your Word.
We declare that they are free in Christ, and we command every lying spirit to flee. We plead the blood of Jesus over their mind, their emotions, and their body. We ask that You would heal every wound and restore every broken place. Fill them with Your peace, Your joy, and Your love. May they walk in the freedom that Christ has purchased for them, and may they never again be entangled in the yoke of bondage.
We thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness. We trust that You are working even now to bring deliverance and restoration. We give You all the glory, honor, and praise, for You alone are worthy. In the precious name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to stand firm in this freedom. Surround yourself with believers who will pray for you, hold you accountable, and speak life into you. Renew your mind with the Word of God daily, for it is the sword of the Spirit that will keep you free (Ephesians 6:17). If this struggle has been ongoing, consider seeking deliverance ministry from a trusted, biblically sound church. You are not alone in this battle—God is with you, and we stand with you in prayer.
