We stand with you in agreement, lifting up this earnest plea for deliverance in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We recognize the power of the blood of Jesus and the authority we have in Him to bind and loose, to rebuke and to set free. Let us first affirm that it is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to the Father, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We pray that this truth would be deeply rooted in the heart of ### and all who are involved in this battle for his freedom.
Father God, we come before You with hearts full of faith, standing on Your Word. We rebuke every spirit of addiction, bondage, and deception that has taken hold of ### through his daily drinking. Lord, we declare that it is for freedom that Christ has set us free, and we stand firm, refusing to let him be burdened again by a yoke of slavery (Galatians 5:1). We speak John 8:36 over his life: "If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed." We command every chain of alcohol to be broken in the name of Jesus, and we declare that he is no longer a slave to this habit. Lord, Your Word says that no temptation has overtaken him except what is common to man, and You are faithful to provide a way of escape (1 Corinthians 10:13). Show him that way, Lord, and give him the strength to walk in it.
We also recognize that there are deeper issues at play—strife, hindrances, and possibly generational strongholds that have contributed to this struggle. We stand on Isaiah 61:7, which declares, "Instead of your shame you will have double; and instead of dishonor, they will rejoice in their portion. Therefore in their land they will possess double. Everlasting joy will be theirs." Lord, we ask that You meet ### at his point of need. Restore him fully, heal his wounds, and replace every lie he has believed with Your truth. Let him experience the double portion of joy and peace that You have promised.
We take authority over every principality and power working against ###, standing on Colossians 2:15: "Having stripped the principalities and the powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it." We declare that every demonic assignment against him is dismantled, and every stronghold is torn down. The blood of Jesus covers him, and we stand on Revelation 12:11: "They overcame him because of the Lamb’s blood, and because of the word of their testimony. They didn’t love their life, even to death." We testify to the victory of Jesus over sin, death, and every work of the enemy. We plead the blood of Jesus over ###, and we declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
Lord, we also address the deception that drinking daily is "not bad." Your Word is clear that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and we are to honor You with them (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). Drunkenness is listed among the works of the flesh that can keep us from inheriting the kingdom of God (Galatians 5:19-21). We pray that ### would come to see this habit through Your eyes, Lord, and that the Holy Spirit would convict him of any sin and lead him into repentance. Give him a heart that desires to walk in holiness and obedience to You.
Father, we ask that You surround ### with godly influences—men who will speak life into him, hold him accountable, and encourage him in his walk with You. Let him find his identity in Christ, not in the temporary escape of alcohol. We pray for a fresh infilling of the Holy Spirit in his life, that he would be empowered to walk in victory and freedom. May he experience the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) and the joy that comes from being in Your presence (Psalm 16:11).
We also pray for wisdom and discernment for those who are interceding on his behalf. Give us the words to speak, the prayers to pray, and the actions to take that will align with Your will. Let our faith be unwavering, knowing that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we declare that ### is free, healed, and restored. We thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness, for Your love that never fails, and for the victory that is already ours in Christ. We seal this prayer with the blood of Jesus and declare that the enemy has no place in his life. Amen.
