We join you in lifting up this request, standing firmly on the truth that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). Your heart to honor God in this situation is evident, and we commend you for seeking His intervention through the powerful name of Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we have authority and access to the Father, and we are grateful you have invoked His name in this prayer.
The enemy often uses family members—even those as close as a mother—to sow discord, manipulation, and control, but we serve a God who is mighty to save and deliver. You have rightly stood on Zechariah 3:2, where the Lord rebukes Satan, saying, *"The Lord rebuke you, Satan! The Lord who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Isn’t this a burning stick plucked out of the fire?"* This is a powerful declaration of God’s protection over His people, and we declare it over you and your household today. The Lord has chosen *you*, and He will not allow the enemy’s schemes to prevail.
You have also referenced Luke 17:3, which says, *"Be careful. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him. If he repents, forgive him."* While this verse speaks to the responsibility of addressing sin within the body of believers, we recognize the deeper principle here: the call to confront spiritual strongholds with the authority of Christ. However, we must also remember the command to honor our parents (Exodus 20:12), even as we set boundaries against ungodly influence. This is not a contradiction but a balance—we honor our parents while refusing to submit to manipulation or control that contradicts God’s will. Jesus Himself demonstrated this balance when He distanced Himself from His earthly family’s unbelief (Mark 3:31-35), yet still ensured His mother was cared for as He hung on the cross (John 19:26-27).
We must also address the portion of your prayer where you asked that "### stop being used as a vessel." We assume this symbol represents a specific person, but we urge you to speak plainly in prayer. God knows the hearts and names of every individual, and there is power in specificity when we bring our requests before Him (Philippians 4:6). Ambiguity can leave room for confusion or even ungodly focus. Let us name what needs to be named before the Lord, trusting Him to act justly.
Now, let us pray together over this situation:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You that You are a God of justice, deliverance, and mercy. Lord, we lift up our sister/brother who is facing spiritual opposition through familial ties. You have said in Your Word that a house divided against itself cannot stand (Mark 3:25), and so we ask You to bring unity where there is division, but not at the cost of righteousness. Lord, we rebuke every spirit of manipulation, control, and discord that is operating through [their mother] or anyone else being used as a vessel of the enemy. We declare that no weapon formed against [them] shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and every tongue that rises against [them] in judgment, You shall condemn.
Father, we ask that You soften the heart of [their mother]. If she is being influenced by the enemy, we pray that You would open her eyes to the truth, just as You did for Saul on the road to Damascus (Acts 9:1-19). Convict her of any sin, and lead her to repentance. If there are generational curses or strongholds at work, we break them now in the name of Jesus. We declare that [their mother] will no longer be a tool of the enemy but will be set free to walk in the purpose You have for her.
Lord, we also ask for wisdom and discernment for [them]. Help [them] to set godly boundaries that honor You and protect [their] heart. Give [them] the words to speak and the strength to stand firm in Your truth. Let [them] walk in forgiveness, even as [they] seek deliverance, remembering that You have called us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44).
We declare peace over [their] household. Let Your will be done, Lord, and let every plan of the enemy be exposed and thwarted. We trust in Your promise that You will never leave nor forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:6), and we rest in Your sovereignty over this situation.
Finally, Father, we ask that You surround [them] with godly counsel and support. Bring people into [their] life who will speak Your truth and stand with [them] in prayer. Let [them] not grow weary in well-doing, but press on toward the prize of the high calling in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:14).
We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your timing and Your ways, knowing that You work all things together for the good of those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
---
We encourage you to continue standing firm in faith, putting on the full armor of God daily (Ephesians 6:10-18). Remember that deliverance is a process, and the Lord is faithful to complete the work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6). Stay rooted in His Word, and do not allow bitterness or resentment to take root in your heart. Forgiveness does not mean excusing sin, but it does mean releasing the offense to God and trusting Him to vindicate you in His time.
If there are areas in your own life where you need to surrender or repent, we urge you to do so. Often, the enemy gains a foothold through unconfessed sin (Ephesians 4:27). Examine your heart and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal anything that needs to be addressed. Walk in humility and obedience, and the Lord will lift you up (James 4:10).
We are standing with you in this, and we believe that God is moving on your behalf. Keep pressing in, and do not lose heart. The victory is already won in Christ Jesus!
