Beloved of All
Lord Jesus,

I praise you, and thank you. I glorify you. Lord Jesus I ask that you emotionally disconnect me from ### my grandfather figure that has a girlfriend that doesn’t like him to talk to women, he’s told me that she fights with him in regards, lord set me free from this standing on 2 Corinthians 3:17. Lord Jesus I ask for ### that is elderly and a widow that he may be lead by you into a holly relationship in your will, asking that you intervene in his life and set him free of anything that is meant to lead him astray, standing on John 8:36. Lord Jesus I ask that you rescue me from any toxic behavior in ### and this girlfriend that doesn’t like him talking to women, standing on 2 Timothy 4:18. In Jesus name I pray and ask. Amen.

We join you in lifting up this request, standing firmly on the truth that where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (2 Corinthians 3:17). It is clear you desire freedom from emotional ties that may be unhealthy, and we commend you for seeking the Lord in this matter. Your heart for this elderly man to walk in holiness is also evident, and we will pray with you for God’s will to be done in his life.

First, we must address the importance of invoking the name of Jesus in prayer. You have done so here, and we praise God for that! It is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to the Father (John 14:6, John 14:13-14). There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is by His authority that we can boldly approach the throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16). Your prayer is rooted in the power of Jesus’ name, and we affirm this as the foundation of our intercession.

Now, let us speak to the relationships you’ve mentioned. The situation with this elderly man and his girlfriend raises concerns that must be addressed biblically. If this man is a believer, he is called to live in a way that honors God, especially in his relationships. The Bible is clear that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). If this man is not married to this woman, their relationship is outside of God’s design, and their living together would be considered fornication, which is a sin (1 Corinthians 6:18, Galatians 5:19). Additionally, the jealousy and control described in this relationship—where his girlfriend resents him speaking to other women—is not of God. Love does not behave in this way. First Corinthians 13:4-7 tells us that love is patient, kind, and does not envy. It does not seek its own way, is not easily provoked, and does not behave rudely. A relationship marked by strife, control, or manipulation is not aligned with the fruit of the Spirit, which includes peace, patience, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).

We urge you to pray not only for emotional detachment from this situation but also for this man’s salvation and repentance if he is not walking with the Lord. If he is a believer, pray for conviction and a return to holiness. The Bible warns us not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers (2 Corinthians 6:14), and even among believers, relationships should reflect Christ’s love and purity. We must also caution you to guard your heart in this matter. While it is noble to care for this man, your emotional involvement could lead to unnecessary pain or distraction from God’s purpose for your life. Proverbs 4:23 reminds us to guard our hearts above all else, for it determines the course of our lives. Trust that the Lord will lead this man into His will, but do not carry the burden of his choices. Your focus should remain on seeking God’s kingdom first (Matthew 6:33).

As for toxic behavior, we rebuke any spirit of jealousy, control, or strife in this relationship. These are not from God but are works of the flesh (Galatians 5:19-21). We declare freedom over you from any emotional bondage tied to this situation, and we pray that this man and his girlfriend would either repent and align their relationship with God’s Word or be separated if they refuse to walk in obedience. The Lord rescues His people from every evil work (2 Timothy 4:18), and we trust Him to act on your behalf.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, thanking You for Your goodness and mercy. Lord, we lift up our sister who seeks freedom from emotional ties that are not aligned with Your will. Father, we ask that You sever any ungodly soul ties and release her from any burden she may be carrying for this man. Fill her with Your peace and clarity, and help her to trust You fully in this situation.

Lord Jesus, we pray for this elderly man. If he does not know You, we ask that You draw him to Yourself (John 6:44). Convict his heart of sin and lead him to repentance. If he is a believer, we pray for a spirit of conviction to fall upon him, that he would turn from any relationship or behavior that dishonors You. Father, break the chains of sin in his life, whether it be fornication, jealousy, or control. Set him free from the enemy’s lies and lead him into a life of holiness and obedience. Your Word says that if we confess our sins, You are faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). We pray he would experience this cleansing and walk in the freedom You purchased for him on the cross.

Lord, we also pray for this woman in his life. Soften her heart and open her eyes to the truth. If she is causing strife and division, we rebuke that spirit in Jesus’ name. Convict her of any sin in her life and draw her to Yourself. If this relationship is not of You, we ask that You dissolve it and bring godly, biblical relationships into both of their lives. Let Your will be done, Lord.

Father, we ask that You protect our sister from any toxic behavior or emotional harm. Surround her with Your love and truth, and help her to release this situation into Your hands. Fill her with Your Spirit and guide her steps as she seeks to honor You in all things.

We declare freedom over her life, in Jesus’ name. We declare that any ungodly ties are broken, and that she is released to walk in the purpose You have for her. We pray for Your peace to guard her heart and mind (Philippians 4:7), and for Your wisdom to guide her decisions.

Finally, Lord, we ask that You would bring godly, biblical marriages into the lives of those who seek You. Raise up men and women who will honor You in their relationships, who will pursue purity, and who will build homes founded on Your Word. Let Your kingdom come and Your will be done in their lives.

We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your power to bring transformation and freedom. May Your name be glorified in all things. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in this matter. Stay rooted in His Word, and trust that He is working even when you cannot see it. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us to trust in the Lord with all our hearts and lean not on our own understanding. Acknowledge Him in all your ways, and He will direct your paths. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, and He will lead you into all truth (John 16:13). If you feel led, consider sharing the gospel with this man, that he may come to know the saving power of Christ. There is no greater love we can show than to point others to the cross. May the Lord bless you and keep you as you walk in obedience to Him.
