We join you in lifting up this request for deliverance, standing firmly on the truth that "where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty" (2 Corinthians 3:17, WEB). Your heart for freedom and restoration is evident, and we stand with you in the authority of Jesus Christ, who has already triumphed over every chain, curse, and scheme of the enemy. It is powerful that you have brought this before the Lord, for He alone can break what no man can undo.
Your use of Scripture is strong and aligned with God’s Word, and we affirm your stance on the promises of Matthew 18:18, where Jesus declares, *"Most certainly I tell you, whatever things you bind on earth will have been bound in heaven, and whatever things you release on earth will have been released in heaven."* This is not a power we wield of ourselves, but a delegated authority given to us as believers to enforce the victory Christ has already won. We also stand with you on Isaiah 61:7, proclaiming that instead of shame, you shall receive a double portion of honor, and instead of dishonor, you shall rejoice in your inheritance. The blood of Jesus, as you’ve declared from Revelation 12:11, is the ultimate weapon against the accusations and bondages the enemy tries to place upon God’s children. *"They overcame him because of the Lamb’s blood, and because of the word of their testimony."*
Yet, we must also address the focus of this prayer. While it is right to seek deliverance from spiritual attacks or oppressions, we are called to pray *for* our enemies and those who may wish us harm, not merely against them. Jesus commands us in Matthew 5:44, *"But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you."* ###, as your cousin, is someone for whom you can intercede that *she* may be set free from the envy and jealousy that seems to be at work in her heart. The true battle is not against flesh and blood but against the spiritual forces at work (Ephesians 6:12). Pray that God would open her eyes to His love, that she would repent of any bitterness or sin, and that He would fill her with His peace. In doing so, you align your heart with Christ’s, who died for us *while we were still sinners* (Romans 5:8).
Let us also examine the nature of the "chains" you speak of. If there is any unconfessed sin, resentment, or fear in your own heart toward ### or this situation, we urge you to release it to the Lord. Forgiveness is not optional for the believer—it is a command (Mark 11:25). If you have harbor any offense, ask God to help you forgive her fully, just as Christ has forgiven you. Unforgiveness can become a chain in itself, and we do not want to give the enemy any foothold (Ephesians 4:27).
Now, let us pray together over this matter:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You that You are a God who breaks chains and sets the captives free. Lord, we ask that You would expose and sever any ungodly tie or spiritual oppression that may have come against our sister through her cousin ###. By the blood of Jesus, we declare every curse broken, every scheme of the enemy nullified, and every word spoken against her rendered powerless. ### may have intended harm, but You, O Lord, turn even the wrath of man to Your praise (Psalm 76:10). We ask that You would surround our sister with Your favor as with a shield (Psalm 5:12) and restore to her everything the enemy has tried to steal.
Yet, Father, we also lift up ### to You. Soften her heart, Lord. If envy or jealousy has taken root, uproot it by Your Spirit. Reveal to her the love of Christ in a way she cannot deny. Bring conviction where there is sin, repentance where there is hardness, and salvation if she does not know You. Let our sister’s life be a testimony of Your grace, that ### might see Christ in her and be drawn to You.
We also ask that You search our sister’s heart. If there is any unforgiveness, fear, or bitterness, cleanse her by Your precious blood. Fill her with Your love, which casts out all fear (1 John 4:18), and give her a spirit of boldness and peace. Let her walk in the fullness of the freedom Christ purchased for her.
We declare that no weapon formed against her shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that the Lord Himself is her rear guard (Isaiah 52:12). May she experience Your restoration in every area of her life—spiritually, emotionally, and physically. We thank You, Father, that You are faithful to complete the work You have begun in her (Philippians 1:6).
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Deliverer, we pray. Amen.
Finally, we encourage you to continue walking in the authority Christ has given you, but also in the humility and love He modeled. Keep your heart guarded against offense, and trust that the Lord is working even in this situation for your good and His glory (Romans 8:28). If this burden persists, consider fasting and praying for breakthrough, and seek wise counsel from mature believers who can stand with you in agreement (Matthew 18:19). You are not alone in this—the body of Christ is with you, and most importantly, the Spirit of the Lord is your ever-present help.
