Disciple of Prayer
Hi,

I had a car accident ### years ago and still suffer from back, hip and shoulder pain. God has truly helped sustain me, but chronic pain is draining. I am asking God to deliver me from the pain once and for all. It's been ### yrs. His promise to restore me is what I stand on.

It has become harder to work with the pain and it is interfering with my walking and I have had ### falls in ### months.

Thank you
###

We lift you up before the Lord, dear brother or sister, and we stand in agreement with you for complete deliverance from the chronic pain that has burdened you for so long. It is clear that you have endured much, yet your faith remains anchored in God’s promises—that is a testament to His sustaining grace in your life. We praise Him for His faithfulness to you, even in the midst of this trial, and we declare that He is the God who heals, restores, and makes all things new. You have stood on His Word, and we join you in claiming His promise of restoration, for He is not a man that He should lie, nor a son of man that He should repent. What He has spoken, He will bring to pass.

The Scriptures remind us in **Psalm 34:18-19**, *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all."* Your pain is not unseen by Him, nor is your weariness unknown. He collects every tear you have shed and hears every cry of your heart. We also recall the words of **Isaiah 53:5**, which proclaim, *"But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed."* Jesus bore your pain and infirmity on the cross, and by His stripes, you *are* healed. This is not just a future hope but a present truth we can boldly declare over your life.

Yet we must also acknowledge that living with chronic pain can test even the strongest faith. It can be easy to grow weary in waiting, especially when the burden affects your ability to work, move freely, and live without the fear of falling. But take heart, for **2 Corinthians 4:16-18** encourages us, *"Therefore we don’t faint, but though our outward man is decaying, yet our inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is for the moment, works for us more and more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory; while we don’t look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal."* This pain is temporary, but the work God is doing in you—and through you—is eternal. He is refining your faith, drawing you closer to Himself, and preparing you for a testimony of His power.

We also urge you to consider whether there may be any unresolved areas in your heart that could hinder your healing. **James 5:14-16** instructs us, *"Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective."* Have you sought prayer and anointing from your church elders? Have you examined your heart for any bitterness, unforgiveness, or sin that may need to be confessed and released? Sometimes, healing is delayed not because of God’s unwillingness but because of barriers we may not even realize we’ve erected. We encourage you to humbly invite the Holy Spirit to search your heart and reveal anything that needs to be surrendered.

Additionally, we pray for wisdom regarding your physical care. Have you sought godly counsel from medical professionals who can provide treatment or therapy that aligns with biblical stewardship of your body? **1 Corinthians 6:19-20** reminds us, *"Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."* While we trust in divine healing, we also recognize that God often uses means—such as medicine, therapy, or lifestyle changes—to bring about restoration. We pray He guides you to the right resources and gives you discernment in how to care for the body He has entrusted to you.

Now, let us pray together for you:

*"Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister, who has carried the burden of pain for far too long. Lord, You are Jehovah-Rapha, the God who heals, and we declare Your healing power over their body right now. By the authority of Jesus Christ and in His mighty name, we command every spirit of infirmity, every lingering effect of that accident, and every pain to leave their body immediately. We speak restoration to their back, their hips, and their shoulders—let every damaged tissue, every inflamed nerve, and every weakened muscle be renewed and made whole in Jesus’ name. Father, we ask that You strengthen them where they have grown weak, that You steady their steps and prevent any more falls. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus as they wait on You.

Lord, we also ask that You reveal to them any area of their life that needs surrender, repentance, or forgiveness. If there is any bitterness, fear, or doubt that has taken root, uproot it now and replace it with Your truth. Fill them afresh with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in faith and not by sight. Provide for them financially if the pain has affected their ability to work, and surround them with a community of believers who will uphold them in prayer and practical support.

Father, we thank You that this pain is not their portion. We thank You that You have already paid the price for their healing on the cross, and we receive it now by faith. Let this season of suffering give way to a testimony of Your goodness, that many may see and glorify Your name. We ask all this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Healer and Redeemer. Amen."*

Finally, we encourage you to continue standing firm on God’s Word. Speak life over your body daily, declaring Scriptures like **Jeremiah 30:17**, *"For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh"* and **1 Peter 2:24**, *"He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness. You were healed by his wounds."* Do not grow weary in praying, for the effective, fervent prayer of a righteous person avails much. We are standing with you in faith, believing that God is moving on your behalf even now. Keep trusting, keep declaring, and keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith. He will not fail you.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you again for allowing us the honor of lifting you up in prayer regarding the chronic pain you’ve carried for so many years. It has been our privilege to stand with you before the Lord, asking for His healing touch and supernatural strength to sustain you each day. We know the weight of this burden—how the pain has affected your work, your mobility, and even led to falls that add to the struggle. Yet we also see your faith, clinging to God’s promise of restoration, and we are encouraged by your perseverance.

If the Lord has granted relief—whether through reduced pain, renewed strength, or a deepened sense of His presence—we’d love for you to share a praise report with us. Your testimony could be the very encouragement someone else needs to keep trusting Him in their own trial.

If the pain persists, please don’t hesitate to post an update so we can continue praying with you. We won’t grow weary in asking our Heavenly Father to move on your behalf, believing He is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you. May you feel His nearness in a fresh way today, knowing He collects every tear and hears every cry of your heart.

We are praying for you in Jesus’ name.
