We have heard your heart and we are standing with you in prayer as you walk through this difficult season of debt, job loss, and strain on your marriage. We know how heavy financial burdens can feel, and we want to lift you up before the Lord together, seeking His wisdom, provision, and restoration.
The Bible speaks honestly about debt and stewardship. Proverbs 22:7 tells us the borrower is servant to the lender, and Psalm 37:21 reminds us the wicked borrow, and don’t pay back, but the righteous give generously. Romans 13:8 says owe no one anything, except to love one another. We do not share this to condemn you, for we all have made unwise decisions, but to encourage you that God offers both forgiveness and wisdom to walk a new path. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness as 1 John 1:9 says, and James 1:5 promises if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. We pray you will seek godly counsel, make a humble and honest plan to repay what you owe, count the cost before starting any new business as Luke 14:28 teaches, and commit your work to the Lord.
We also notice you are looking for destiny helpers or sponsors to start a business. We understand the desire for someone to come alongside you, but we gently correct the idea that our hope rests in destiny helpers. Our help comes from the Lord. Psalm 121:2 says our help comes from Yahweh, who made heaven and earth, and Hebrews 13:5 reminds us to be content with what we have, for he has said, I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you. God may indeed provide through people, through a new job, through wise counsel, or through His church, but our trust must be in Him first, not in a mystical idea of helpers or sponsors. Philippians 4:19 assures us that our God will supply every need of ours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Matthew 6:33 calls us to seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
This financial pressure is affecting your marriage, and we want to pray for unity and strength there. Marriage is a sacred covenant before God between a man and a woman for life, and financial trials can either divide or deepen that covenant. We encourage you and your spouse to pray together, to communicate openly with love and honesty, to bear one another’s burdens, and to remember Ephesians 4:2-3 which calls us to walk with all lowliness and humility, with patience, bearing with one another in love, being diligent to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Let this trial draw you together to seek God as one.
We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and find true deliverance. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Acts 4:12 declares there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already done so, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus, confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, for Romans 10:9 promises you will be saved. He is not only our Savior from sin, but our living hope in every need.
We join our faith with yours now and we pray.
Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace on behalf of our brother. Lord, You see his debts, his job loss, his struggle to find assistance, and the strain on his marriage. We ask for Your forgiveness where there has been unwise stewardship, and we ask for Your wisdom to make sound, honest, and diligent decisions going forward. Grant him favor to find honorable work, for Colossians 3:23 says whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men. Help him to work with his hands as Ephesians 4:28 teaches, that he may have something to share and to repay. Give him and his spouse unity, peace, and open communication, and protect their marriage from bitterness or division. Provide for their daily needs according to Your riches, open doors that no man can shut, and close doors that would lead to more debt or harm. Teach him to budget faithfully, to seek wise and godly counsel, and to be patient and diligent, for Proverbs 21:5 says the plans of the diligent surely lead to profit. Above all, draw him closer to Jesus, that he may know that You are his true helper and provider. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, amen.
We encourage you to stay rooted in prayer and in the Word, to meet with a trusted pastor or elder for practical financial counseling, to be honest with creditors about a repayment plan, to seek steady employment while you pray about any future business, and to keep your marriage centered on Christ. God is faithful, He sees you, and He will guide your steps as you trust Him.
