Deliverance from enemies

Anonymous

Beloved of All
An old friend and my cousins and everybody grew up with keeps persecuting me; it’s so painful. They know where I live, my struggles, and my weaknesses. He’s a violent man who was just released from prison! He’s angry with me. They pocket watch me. God, were you to shut these people up forever! The world hates me! I’m not going to make it on the earth much longer. My enemies are determined to see me fail. They mock me and, most importantly, they mock Jesus, God, the Bible. They say it’s fake or their lack of understanding makes them bitter. I don’t understand everything, but I have faith in Him. They are very hateful towards the things of God. They watch and lurk, and if I open social media to post about faith, they watch and use it against me. They are sure God doesn’t exist and that He’s looking out for me. They love money. Everything is about money. They feel secure because they have houses and cars and money. I don’t know what I’m to do; I live under their power. It’s a nightmare because they’re too strong. They have more. I’m a disgrace to them. A failure, a loser. They are constantly in secret competition with me. And the women are cruel too. And since my big brother, who is in prison, is also causing me trouble and pain, I pray for me always, but he’s very bitter towards me. My cousins and so-called family and friends. I seem to be a burden, especially at grandpa’s house. They hate that I live there and say I’m a bum for not having my own house. I’m sorry, God, I’m such a failure. PSALM 10

We hear the deep anguish in your heart, and we stand with you in prayer, lifting your pain before the throne of God. The persecution you face is real, and the weight of their mockery, especially toward the things of God, is a heavy burden to bear. But we want you to know this: you are not alone, and the Lord sees every tear, every injustice, and every cruel word spoken against you. The psalmist cried out in Psalm 10:14, "But you do see trouble and grief; you consider it to take it in hand. The victim commits himself to you. You are the helper of the fatherless." You are not forgotten, and God is your defender.

First, we must address the spiritual battle raging around you. Your enemies do not just oppose you, they oppose Christ, and that is a dangerous place to be. Jesus warned in Matthew 12:30, "He who is not with me is against me, and he who doesn’t gather with me, scatters." Their rejection of God’s truth is not just ignorance; it is rebellion, and their words against you are ultimately words against Him. But take heart, for the Lord says in Romans 12:19, "Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, ‘Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.’" You do not have to fight this battle alone. God will avenge His name and your suffering.

We also rebuke the spirit of fear and despair that has tried to take root in your heart. You mentioned feeling like a failure, a disgrace, and a burden, but those are lies from the enemy. The truth is found in 1 Peter 2:9, "But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, that you may proclaim the excellence of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light." You are not defined by their opinions or your circumstances. You are defined by Christ, who loved you enough to die for you while you were still a sinner (Romans 5:8). Their words cannot separate you from God’s love (Romans 8:38-39).

Now, we must address the practical danger you face. This violent man who was just released from prison poses a real threat, and we urge you to take steps to protect yourself. Proverbs 22:3 says, "A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge, but the simple keep going and suffer for it." If you have not already, please consider reaching out to local authorities or a trusted Christian ministry that can help you find safety. God does not call us to be reckless with our lives. Psalm 91:1-2 declares, "He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.’" Seek refuge in Him, but also take practical steps to remove yourself from harm’s way.

We also rebuke the spirit of bitterness and competition that has poisoned your family and former friends. Their love of money and worldly security has blinded them to the truth, and their cruelty reveals the condition of their hearts. Jesus said in Matthew 6:24, "No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other; or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You can’t serve both God and Mammon." Their security is an illusion, wealth and possessions cannot save them. But you have something far greater: eternal life in Christ. Do not envy their temporary comforts, for they are storing up wrath for themselves (Romans 2:5).

We must also address the shame you feel about your living situation. You are not a "bum" or a failure because you do not own a house. The world measures success by material possessions, but God measures it by faithfulness. Jesus Himself had no place to lay His head (Matthew 8:20). What matters is not where you live, but whose you are. If you are in a place where you are being mistreated, ask the Lord to open a door for you to find a safe and godly environment. But do not let their words define your worth. You are a child of the King, and He will provide for you according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19).

Now, we pray for you with boldness and faith:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother who is under attack. Lord, You see the persecution he faces, both physically and spiritually. You know the names of those who seek to harm him, and You know the pain in his heart. We ask that You would be his shield and defender, as You promised in Psalm 3:3, "But you, Yahweh, are a shield around me, my glory, and the one who lifts up my head."

Lord, we rebuke the spirit of fear and despair that has tried to take hold of him. Replace it with Your perfect peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Remind him that he is not a failure, but a beloved child of God, chosen and set apart for Your purposes. Let him find his identity in You alone.

We pray for protection over his life. Surround him with Your angels, Lord, and frustrate the plans of those who seek to harm him. If there is a need for physical safety, open a door for him to escape danger and find refuge. Give him wisdom to know when to speak and when to remain silent, and strength to endure this trial.

Father, we also pray for his enemies. We ask that You would soften their hearts and open their eyes to the truth of Your Word. If they will not repent, we ask that You would render their plans ineffective and turn their schemes against them, as You did with Haman in the book of Esther. Let them see that You are God, and there is no other.

Lord, we declare over our brother that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We speak life, hope, and victory over him. Strengthen his faith, deepen his trust in You, and let him experience Your presence in a tangible way. Remind him that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that will be revealed in him (Romans 8:18).

Finally, Lord, we ask that You would heal his heart from the wounds inflicted by his family and former friends. Let him forgive them, not because they deserve it, but because You have forgiven him. Help him to see himself through Your eyes, as a precious, redeemed child of God, called for a purpose.

We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus, the name above every name, the name by which we are saved and delivered. Amen.

Hold fast to your faith, dear brother. The battle is not yours, but the Lord’s (2 Chronicles 20:15). You are not fighting for victory, you are fighting from victory. The same power that raised Christ from the dead lives in you (Romans 8:11), and no weapon formed against you shall prosper. Stand firm, knowing that your labor in the Lord is not in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58). The world may hate you, but Jesus said, "Blessed are you when people reproach you, persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven" (Matthew 5:11-12). Your reward is coming. Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9). God is with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5).

We hear the pain in your words, and we want you to know that God hasn’t turned His back on you, not for a second. Those words from your enemies, the mockery, the threats, they cut deep, but remember, the enemy wants to steal your hope, not just your peace. Psalm 27 says, “The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear?” Even when the world feels like it’s closing in, He’s still on His throne.

It’s hard when those closest to you, family, even, turn against you for following Jesus. But their cruelty doesn’t define your worth. You’re not a failure in God’s eyes; you’re His child, dearly loved. The Bible says the Lord is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). He sees every tear, every sleepless night. And He’s fighting for you, even when it feels like the battle is all around you.

We’re praying for you to feel God’s protection, like a shield around you. Ask Him to guard your heart from bitterness, too, it’s easy to let their hate take root in us. Instead, ask Him to fill you with His peace, the kind that doesn’t make sense in this world but keeps us steady. And if you’re in danger, please reach out to someone you trust for safety. God doesn’t expect you to face this alone.

Father, we lift our brother up to You. Surround him with Your presence, break the power of fear and intimidation over his life, and let him feel Your love in a real way. Heal the wounds from those who should’ve protected him but instead hurt him. Protect him from harm, and surround him with Your angels. Give him strength to stand firm, knowing You see every tear and hear every prayer. We ask all this in Jesus’ name.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
