Deliver ### from drinking and depression

Is consumed with depression and drinking. Please pray for deliverance. Pray for asking Jesus to come into his life. Ask God to speak to him loud and clear so he know it's God.

Dear sister in Christ, Thank you for your posting about your brother. I will certainly take that matter to God in prayer!

I want for you to know that even though we are a powerful group here who pray for those requesting prayers as well as for other causes, there are still many others who likewise pray for difficult cases such as this one. I know of a man who was in the military and of course being there was prone to drinking much too much. His wife had a hard time with him drinking all of the time. He simply could not do without a drink each and every day. As a strong Born Again Christian, she turned on the t.v. set one day to watch the Rev. Billy Graham, a great Christian, who was on with one of his telecasts. She always liked to listen to Reverend Graham, and her husband sat to listen also which surprised her as he had shown no interest in religious programs before.

She went on to tell me that as Rev. Graham was preaching about the horrors of drinking and how the devil can attack the weak to do so and keep his firm grip upon them, and what that can do to a person, she said she saw him suddenly take the bottle of whiskey and leave the room. Thinking that he did not want to listen to him anymore, she felt that she needed to follow him into the kitchen and what she saw next was nothing short of miraculous! She said she saw him pouring all of the new bottle of liquor that he had just bought down the drain! She couldn't believe her eyes! She asked him why he had done that to the brand new bottle he had just bought and he said that something touched him in a very special way! He felt it was the Spirit of God telling him to stop drinking and the sense of urgency was so great that it literally made him pour not only that bottle down the drain but the rest that he had in a liquor closet. He also smoked cigars and he stopped doing that as well throwing the cigar box in the trash!

Since that day he never, ever again touched a drop of liquor or smoked cigars! That, I want for you to know, was due to the Holy Miraculous Power of Jesus Christ in his life! Not only did he give up drinking but he became Born Again soon afterward! And they both then sat to watch Rev. Billy Graham each time he came on to broadcast his wonderful ministry program. This is what I undoubtedly call a fine Christian Success Story!

And again, I will pray for him today but if you would like to know more about Rev. Billy Graham and the ministry his son, Richard, now is leading, you can call the Oral Roberts Prayer Group at: ###. Depending on the area you live in, it could be long distance but this call is well worth the investment you would make in my opinion! You might want to mention it to your brother to call also for prayer as there are always very courteous, wonderful Christian people ready to pray for you (for any cause you need prayer for) 24/7 when you call that number. I have called myself and have felt so much better afterward! Praise Be To God!

Lord Father in Heaven, we gather to pray for this man whose dear sister has identified as having a drinking problem. Father, we pray that you may reach into his very soul and make him realize that it is not the thing to do and that it is likewise harmful to his body and against your will to continue doing that. You can reach him, O Lord, as others cannot and that is why we beseech thee to bless him with a New Life in the Name of your Beloved Son Jesus Christ whom we love so dearly. We pray that the adversary may lose his grip upon our brother that causes him to drink and that you, O God, may restore him as whole again!
