We join with you in deep concern and prayer as we witness the decay of this world, a reality that Scripture foretold long ago. The moral decline, the rebellion against God’s order, and the rise of darkness in high places are not surprises to us, for we know that "in the last days, grievous times will come. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, not lovers of good, traitors, headstrong, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God" (2 Timothy 3:1-4). Yet even in this, we do not lose heart, for we know that God’s Word remains steadfast, and His commandments are the path to life.
We stand with you in faith, declaring that the light of Christ pierces even the darkest places. The principalities and powers of this world may rage, but they are already defeated foes. "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places" (Ephesians 6:12). We take up the full armor of God—not in our own strength, but in the power of the Holy Spirit—to stand firm against these forces. We bind the works of darkness in Jesus’ name and loose the kingdom of God to advance in every nation, tribe, and tongue.
We pray for an outpouring of God’s glory that is indeed extreme, unmatched, unstoppable, and unspeakable. Let it flood the earth like waters covering the sea, as the prophet Habakkuk declared: "For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of Yahweh’s glory, as the waters cover the sea" (Habakkuk 2:14). May this glory dismantle every stronghold of sin, idolatry, and deception, and may it draw all people to repentance and faith in Christ. We ask for a revival that shakes the foundations of this world, turning hearts back to the Lord in humility and obedience.
Yet we must also examine our own lives, families, and communities to ensure we are not contributing to the decay. Are we holding fast to God’s commandments, or have we compromised with the world’s standards? Are we walking in love, holiness, and truth, or have we allowed bitterness, division, or sin to take root? We must be vigilant, for "if we say that we have fellowship with him and walk in the darkness, we lie and don’t tell the truth" (1 John 1:6). Let us repent where we have strayed and renew our commitment to live as lights in this dark world.
We also lift up those who are navigating different environments—whether in corrupt governments, broken families, or godless cultures. May they be strengthened to stand firm in the faith, to speak the truth in love, and to live as ambassadors of Christ. "Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God" (Romans 12:2). Let us not be intimidated by the decay around us, but rather, let us be agents of transformation, sowing seeds of righteousness wherever we go.
Father, we come before You with hearts burdened by the state of this world, yet filled with hope because of Your promises. We ask for Your mercy to restrain the evil that seeks to dominate, and for Your grace to empower Your people to walk in obedience. Let Your glory fill the earth, and let every knee bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. We declare that the gates of hell will not prevail against Your church, and that Your kingdom will come on earth as it is in heaven. Strengthen us to be faithful witnesses, to love as You have loved us, and to stand firm in the truth of Your Word.
We pray for those who do not yet know You, that their eyes would be opened to the darkness of their ways and that they would turn to Christ for salvation. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16). Let the light of the gospel shine brightly in every corner of this world, breaking the chains of sin and setting the captives free.
We also rebuke the spirit of complacency and apathy that has crept into the church. Wake us up, Lord! Stir our hearts to action, to prayer, and to bold proclamation of Your truth. Let us not be silent in the face of evil, but let us speak with courage and conviction, knowing that "the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds" (2 Corinthians 10:4).
Finally, we thank You for the victory that is already ours in Christ. Though the world may decay, we have the hope of eternal life and the promise of a new heaven and a new earth where righteousness dwells. Until that day, may we live as faithful stewards of the gospel, shining Your light in the darkness and advancing Your kingdom with every breath we take. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
