We hear the deep distress and pain in this request and we join with you in seeking God's will together in Jesus' name. We understand the anguish of having money and identity documents stolen, of feeling oppressed and attacked in the workplace, and of sensing real spiritual darkness from occult and marine spirits and the kingdom of darkness. We take these burdens seriously because our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12. Greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world 1 John 4:4, and Christ has disarmed the principalities and powers and made a public spectacle of them Colossians 2:15.
We must also gently rebuke and correct the way this prayer has been framed, because it does not align with biblical principles. We are commanded not to seek vengeance for ourselves but to leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord Romans 12:19. You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge Romans 12:17. Jesus himself teaches us to love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you Matthew 5:44, and bless those who persecute you, bless, and do not curse Romans 12:14. To pray for a billion scourges, for blood to be shed like the oceans together, for people to be killed and made a footstool to repay debts, is to ask God to do what He has forbidden us to desire. Even the imprecatory psalms like Psalm 35 and Psalm 94 ultimately appeal to God as Judge and leave justice in His hands, saying O Yahweh, God to whom vengeance belongs Psalm 94:1, trusting Him to judge righteously rather than demanding we see cruel suffering. Under the new covenant we do not execute judgment ourselves as in Exodus 22:18, but we pray for repentance and salvation, knowing God desires all people to be saved and come to knowledge of the truth 1 Timothy 2:4 and that He is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance 2 Peter 3:9.
This does not mean we minimize witchcraft, fetishes, or occult oppression. God calls sorcery and idolatry sin and an abomination Deuteronomy 18:10-12, and we should have no fellowship with such works Ephesians 5:11. But our weapon is spiritual, not physical. We resist the devil and he will flee from us James 4:7, we submit to God, we put on the whole armor of God Ephesians 6:11, and we overcome evil with good Romans 12:21. We do not take matters into our own hands to burn sanctuaries ourselves or to curse people to death, we ask God to expose darkness, to destroy the works of the devil 1 John 3:8, and to bring either repentance or His own just judgment in His perfect way and timing. The Lord kills and makes alive, he brings down to Sheol and brings up 1 Samuel 2:6, and His judgments are just and true, not ours to dictate.
We also notice the great burden of debt and loss mentioned, about ### USD that has been stolen. God cares about injustice and theft, for you shall not steal Exodus 20:15, and He is a God of justice and restoration. He promises to supply every need according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:19 and to restore what the locusts have eaten Joel 2:25 in His mercy. We should pursue what is practical and lawful as well, reporting theft of money and ID cards to proper authorities, seeking godly counsel for debts, and being diligent and honest in our work as bondservants, doing service as to the Lord Ephesians 6:7, while trusting Him to provide.
We also want to affirm that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved Acts 4:12, and Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me John 14:6. We are grateful you closed in the name of Jesus, for whatever we ask in His name according to His will He hears us John 14:13-14.
So we pray together now.
Father in heaven, we come before Your throne in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this dear one who is wounded by theft, by debt, by spiritual oppression in the workplace. Lord, You see what has been stolen, the money, the identity, the peace, and You know those who practice darkness. We ask for Your divine protection, that no weapon that is formed against us will prevail Isaiah 54:17, and that You would surround Your child with Your favor as with a shield Psalm 5:12. We ask You to expose and dismantle every work of witchcraft, every fetish, every marine spirit and every assignment of the kingdom of darkness, not by our power but by Your Holy Spirit Zechariah 4:6, and let Your light drive out all darkness John 1:5. We pray that You would convict those who have done evil, that they would repent and be saved, and if they refuse, that Your perfect justice would be done according to Your righteousness and not our vengeance. We surrender our anger and desire for retaliation to You, and we choose to forgive as You forgave us Ephesians 4:32, and to bless those who have cursed us.
Lord, we ask for restoration and provision. Provide for every debt, open doors for honest work and increase, give wisdom to steward finances well Romans 13:8, and restore what has been stolen in the way You deem best Proverbs 6:31. Guard the workplace, let it be a place of peace and integrity, and let no occult power have dominion there, for You have given us authority to trample on serpents and scorpions Luke 10:19 in Christ. Strengthen faith, remove fear, for God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7. Lead this life into deeper trust in Jesus, that knowing Him more would be the greatest treasure. We ask all this according to Your will, in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, amen.
