We hear the deep pain and anger in your request over the wrongs you have suffered, the damage to your car, the theft of your fuel and oil and phone, and the attacks and injustice you feel from many people and groups around you in Kinshasa and elsewhere, and we join together to bring this before the Lord to seek His will and His way.

We must gently rebuke the spirit of this prayer as it is written, for it does not align with the heart of Christ. To ask that people be plagued a thousand billions times more than the Egyptians, that they and their children and generations be erased and their properties and marriages be taken for your gain, is to ask for vengeance and covetousness, which God forbids us to seek for ourselves. The Scripture is clear that judgment and vengeance belong to the Lord alone and not to us. Romans 12:19 says Beloved, don’t avenge yourselves, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord. And Romans 12:17 says Repay no one evil for evil. Respect what is honorable in the sight of all men. Proverbs 20:22 says Don’t say, I will compensate evil. Wait for Yahweh, and he will save you.

We also must correct the desire to punish children and generations for the sins of others and to take what belongs to others including their marriages. The Lord says in Ezekiel 18:20 The soul who sins, he shall die: the son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son; the righteousness of the righteous shall be on him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be on him. To desire to take another person's marriage or belongings is covetousness, and God calls us to trust Him to provide for us righteously rather than to plunder others. 1 Peter 3:9 says not rendering evil for evil, or insult for insult; but instead blessing; knowing that to this were you called, that you may inherit a blessing.

The Lord Jesus calls us to a higher way, even toward those who have harmed us and toward those involved in occultic practices, witchcraft, fetishes and enchantments which God hates. Matthew 5:44 says But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. We are not to repay curses with curses or to use spiritual fire to destroy people, but to pray for their repentance and salvation, and to trust God to protect us and to bring justice in His perfect time and way, including through lawful authorities which He has ordained in Romans 13:1-4.

We do believe the promise you quoted that it shall be well with the righteous. Isaiah 3:10 says Tell the righteous It shall be well with them; for they shall eat the fruit of their doings. This is God’s promise to bless obedience, not by taking unjust gain from others, but by His own provision and fruitfulness as we walk faithfully with Him and love the body of Christ.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name by which we can approach You and be saved, and we thank You that You hear us through Him. We ask You to heal this deep wound of anger and loss and to guard this heart from bitterness and from the desire for revenge. Forgive us where we have desired evil for others, and help us to forgive as You have forgiven us. We ask that You would bring Your perfect justice regarding the theft and destruction that has been suffered, that You would restore what can be restored according to Your will, and that You would provide for every need. We pray for Your divine protection over this life from every occultic group, workplace foe, witchcraft, enchantment, poisoner, and violent person, and we ask that no weapon formed against Your child would prosper. We pray for those who have done evil, that You would convict them of sin, bring them to repentance, and save them through Jesus Christ if they do not know You, and that You would stop their wicked works. Lead us away from any fellowship with darkness and keep us walking in Your light, in holiness and obedience, so that we may truly eat the fruit of our doings and see the body of Christ built up and skyrocket for Your glory. Give peace, wisdom, and lawful help to resolve these debts and disputes without sin, and let Your will be done. We ask all this in Jesus’ name, amen.

We have been sitting with your request and we hear how much you have been carrying. Having your car tires punctured and windows and lights broken, fuel and oil stolen, your phone taken, and feeling targeted by people at work and in the community around ### would leave anyone feeling exposed, angry and worn down. It makes sense you long for justice and for what was taken from you and from your nonprofit work to be restored.

When hurts like these keep replaying, they can settle into a heavy burden that follows you through the day. We have found it helps to entrust the wrong to God to handle in His way, so your heart can find more room for peace and clear direction, even while you still seek what is right.

One practical step that may help is to make a simple written record of what has happened and what has been lost or damaged, and share it with a trusted pastor or wise leader near you who knows your situation. He can pray with you personally, help you think through wise next steps for safety and for reporting theft or damage where appropriate, and walk with you as you seek provision for the car and for the nonprofit.

Father, we lift our brother to You in Jesus' name. Cover him with Your protection and peace, guard his heart from bitterness, and give him wisdom for each decision ahead. Provide for his needs and for the work You have given him to do, and lead him and the body of Christ into what is good and life giving. Amen.

You have poured out a heavy burden of loss and wrong, debts and thefts, the breaking and plundering of what you own, and the sting of those who have set themselves against you. The Lord sees these things, and He knows the anger and the sorrow they have stirred in your heart.

Yet the Word of the Lord turns our thoughts from the vengeance we would call down upon others to the vengeance which belongs to God alone. The day of vengeance is in His heart, and the year of His redeemed is come, and these two are married together in the work of Christ. Justice and mercy meet at the cross. There the Lord demanded the penalty in justice and Himself supplied it in love, so that sin might be punished and sinners forgiven. To ask that men be plagued and erased and their households destroyed is to ask for a work which God has not given into our hands. Vengeance is His, and He will repay in righteousness. Our calling, as those who have been forgiven, is of another kind. As it has been well said, the most splendid vengeance you can ever have is to do good to them that do you evil, and to speak well of them that speak ill of you.

Hear what the Scripture says for your own soul first, for there is forgiveness with Him. It is a divine forgiveness, I even I am He that blotteth out thy transgressions. It is a surprising forgiveness, so great that God Himself sets it forth as a wonder. It is a complete forgiveness and an eternal forgiveness, for he who is once forgiven in Christ is forgiven to all eternity, and the act of forgiveness is a continuous one toward His people. If you tremble under the weight of sin and wrong, even your own, this word is for you, There is forgiveness with Thee. Where the offense went, from that very place the forgiveness comes. Fly not away from Him, but fly to Him through the blood of Jesus Christ, for there is forgiveness with God and it is to be had now, through His Son.

And because you have received such forgiveness, you are called to forgive as you have been forgiven, for Christ's sake. This does not mean that what was stolen or broken was not evil, nor that you should not seek lawful protection and honest remedy where you may. It does mean that you leave the final judgment to Him who judges righteously, and that you do not seek to take for yourself by cursing what belongs to another, not goods nor marriages nor generations. The promise that it shall be well with the righteous means that God Himself will provide the fruit of holy doings in His own way and time, not that we should claim the belongings of others. Where God begins a good work, He will complete it, and you may trust Him and not fear, saying I got it straight from the throne of God by trusting in the blood of Jesus Christ.

Let us pray together not for fire to consume men, but for the Lord to do what is right. May the Lord guard you and keep you from further harm, provide for your debts and daily needs, and give wisdom to those who bear rule to restrain evil. May He give you a heart to forgive even as you have been forgiven, to do good unto all men for His glory, and to rest in His care. And may He, who desires not the death of sinners, bring even those who have wronged you to see their need and to seek that same forgiveness which is now freely offered in Christ, to the praise of His grace.
