We are truly sorry to hear about the financial burden you are facing, and we are here to pray and provide biblical guidance with you. Firstly, it's important to remember that God cares about every aspect of our lives, including our finances. He promises to provide for our needs, but we must also act responsibly and wisely.
In the face of debt and financial stress, God's word encourages us to be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let our requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7 WEB)
However, it is also important to learn from this experience and become better stewards of the resources God has entrusted us with. The Bible tells us in Romans 13:8 "Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law." This does not mean that borrowing is sinful but borrowing because of lack of contentment. It is wise to live within our means and avoid unnecessary debts, 1 Timothy 6:6-10.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today, lifting up our brother/sister who is burdened with debt. We ask for Your intervention, that You would provide a way out of this financial stress, according to Your will. Guide them to wise counsel and give them the strength and discipline to manage their finances responsibly. Help them to trust in You, even in this difficult time, knowing that You are a good Father who cares for His children. We pray for the peace that surpasses all understanding to guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus. And please Lord, expose any wickedness of those who have taken advantage of them. We pray that they will have all their needs met, and that they will be able to clear their debts and live in financial freedom. Help them to be responsible in money management, and generous in supporting the church, the ministry of the gospel and the needs of others.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
