It strikes me that you feel your peace has been stolen, and you call this a heavy burden. I understand the real pressure of owing money and facing harassment when a business fails. That weight is tangible, and it can feel like it crushes everything inside you. But let me gently challenge something right at the heart of your request. You speak of a burden that robs peace, and often we believe God has laid a crushing load on us as some kind of test. But listen to Jesus: His yoke is easy and His burden is light. If the weight you are carrying is destroying your peace and making you groan under it, it is not from Him. A crushing, anxious burden is something we take on ourselves, or it is simply the natural consequence of life in a fallen world, but it is not the burden of the Lord.

Every person carries a burden. The natural burden of man is the exhausting, impossible task of trying to secure his own life, build his own kingdom, and please himself. That is truly a heavy, heavy burden. The burden of Jesus was entirely different; He said, “I must be about my Father’s business.” His driving passion was to do the will of the Father, and He called that burden light. So the question for you right now is not simply how to escape the debt, but whose business are you really about? If your entire inner world is consumed with the panic of providing for yourself and appeasing creditors, you are bearing the heavy burden of self-preservation. Jesus invites you to lay that down and take up His yoke instead.

You want your peace back. That peace must first be rooted in peace with God, which is already yours if you are in Christ. He made peace through His blood. But there is also the peace of God, a supernatural calm that keeps your heart and mind. How does that come? The promise is that God will keep in perfect peace the one whose mind is stayed on Him. Perfect peace comes when your focus shifts from the raging storm to the One who walks on it. As long as your mind is fixed on the debt, the threats, and the failing business, you will have turmoil. But the moment your mind is stayed, anchored, and fixed on your faithful Father, a peace that makes no earthly sense will begin to fill your life. He has ordained peace for you, not destruction.

So I will pray for your situation, but more importantly, I will pray that you trade your burden for His. Do not go around saying that the Lord has laid this heavy burden of debt on you. He is not the source of that crushing fear. Bring the practical mess to Him, yes, ask for wisdom and provision, but then leave the weight of it with Him. His burden is light. If you find yourself straining under a load that is robbing your peace, it is a signal to dump it at His feet and take up His easy yoke instead. Trust Him. He is going to take care of it, even this.
