Beloved of All
Your honest prayer has been heard, and your willingness to come before God just as you are is precious to Him. You have confessed that your own way has not worked and that you cannot fix this without Him, and that is exactly the place where God begins His work.
Scripture teaches us to bring our personal needs to God for provision, for forgiveness, for guidance, and for deliverance, and you have touched on each of those. You have asked for forgiveness, for daily provision to pay your bills and have enough to live, for guidance to make wise decisions, and for deliverance from the burden that weighs on you. God knows your needs even before you speak them, and He invites you to cast all your care upon Him because He cares for you.
The greatest need any of us has is the forgiveness of sins, and that must be settled first. Whatever financial or physical pressure we face, the forgiveness that comes only through Jesus Christ is primary, and everything else rests upon it. The Bible makes clear that there is only one provision God has made for the putting away of sin and guilt, and that is through His Son. You cannot buy forgiveness or earn redemption by effort. It is given freely when you turn to Him in faith, and when God forgives, His forgiveness is complete. It is not like our human way of saying we forgive but still holding on to the offense. When God forgives, He blots out the transgression completely and remembers it no more, and you are washed and cleansed.
The Lord also teaches that having received such great forgiveness, we are to have a spirit of forgiveness toward others from the heart. Forgiveness is not a matter of counting how many times we must forgive, but a matter of the heart and spirit that God Himself will give you if you are willing. If there is bitterness or an unforgiving spirit in your heart toward anyone, ask Him to take it away and to give you His spirit of forgiveness. He will give you the capacity as you are willing to obey Him, and forgiving others from the heart opens the way to know the fullness of His forgiveness toward you. The picture Jesus gave is of a servant who was forgiven an enormous debt he could never repay, a debt that would have bound him and his family, yet his master in compassion released him and canceled it entirely. How much God has forgiven each of us is far greater than any small debt owed to us by another.
You also spoke honestly about bad desires and decisions that led to debt, and God honors that honesty. He does not leave you to carry this burden alone. He bore our burdens and He calls us to bear one another's burdens as well, so you are not alone in this struggle. We stand with you in prayer.
God is able to make a way and to give you wisdom for the practical steps ahead. Ask Him not only for provision for today, but for guidance in how to steward what He provides, to turn from the desires and choices that led to this burden, and to walk in new patterns that honor Him. He is faithful to lead those who seek Him with a willing heart.
We pray for you now. Father, we thank You for Your complete forgiveness through Jesus Christ and for Your tender mercy that blots out transgression. We ask You to forgive this dear one as they turn to You, to cleanse their heart and give them a spirit of forgiveness toward others. Provide for their daily needs according to Your riches, give clear guidance for every financial decision, and grant deliverance from the weight of this debt. Teach them to trust You day by day and to walk in wisdom and newness of life. In the name of Jesus we pray, amen.
