Debt and Family Strife.
Please pray for my husband as he talks with his Father. We farm but he holds ownership. We have a great deal of debt.
Some is our own fault, for which we have repented and been changing but most is just the way it has been. We lose crops to various things, and we lost
a lot of crop this year in storage which means lower income.
Some debt is from my husbands parents.
And some comes from helping our children and from my monthly medicine.
We pay all our in-laws expenses. They get the pension and pay for their own groceries. But we pay for everything else out of the farm. They have savings. But, we do not. We were paid a very poor wage for years and now take out more.
We get our hopes up to have good crops and then they fail. We want to sell a bit of land to pay down our debt load.
My husband is 54 years of age but his dad is still in control of the farm. He is 80 in May. He gets angry with us for not paying bills on time. But, he gives us no option of selling a bit of land.
We would get more than we paid for the piece 20 years ago.
I want to be able to pay our debtors and walk with our heads up. My husband has tried to work off the farm. And, I have before I was sick. Some debt came from his parents when we bought into the farm.
We have helped our son through university and he has a good job now, but one that pays very poorly.
Pray that he can get a raise so that he will be self supporting now.
Because we paid for his school we are now paying for our daughter's also, who is in her 1st year.
Pray also to soften the heart of Dan's father, Alex, to see that we are wanting to the honourable thing by selling something we have of value and paying off the people that we owe as well as paying down our bank loans.
Alex, Dan's father, thinks he is a Christian, but I question that, as he gave us all prophecies.... none of which have come true so far. Dan's, my husband's prophecy was to own 4 sections of land.
We do not want to farm forever. And, Dan grows weary as I have been sick and no help. His Dad is no help as he actually wrecks a lot of things that end up costing us money.
We have enough land to live off of. And merely want to sell 1/2 section to pay our debts.
I have been better, lately, and plan to write, or write music or do something artsy from home to help. My husband can work part time too. Our son has a full time and a part time job. Our daughter a part-time one. But costs of living are high here.
In Jesus name I ask these things,
and I ask that you come along side of us in this prayer for making our word true. And, paying our debtors.
