Father, we thank You that we love ONLY since You first loved us, 1 Jn 4:19, and the limited understanding we possess in this age, 1 Cor 13:9, Deut 29:29. Yet still we would abound still more, Phil 1:9, 1 Thes 3:12, 1 Thes 4:9-10, and ask a greater comprehension of the great love for the humans of the world that You would give Your Only Son, Jn 3:16, and the eternal life that Christ obeyed at head-shaking wonder to secure, Phil 2:1-11, and what You mean when The Holy Spirit says about Jesus, “who by His death, defeated him that had the power of death, that is the devil, and liberated those who through fear of death were enslaved to fear their entire lives," Heb 2:14-15. We ask You destroy fear of death among believers through grasping that You already did it for us -- let our hearts be flooded with light to know the hope to which we were called and the riches of the glory of Your inheritance, Eph 1:18… Give us wisdom and revelation to understand You, the hope of our calling, the riches of Your inheritance, and the exceeding greatness of Your power You exerted in Christ in the resurrection, Eph 1:17-19.

Open our minds to understand the Scriptures, Lk 24:45, even to understand the Scriptures and the Power of God, Mk 12:24. Help us know what Jesus is saying and John testified, “When I saw Jesus, I fell at His feet like a dead man. But He placed His right hand on me and said, ‘Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last, 18 The Living One -- I was dead, and behold, NOW I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys of Death and of Hades,’” Rev 1:17-18. Thank You in advance, Mk 11:24, Heb 11:6, in The One Mediator's Name, 1 Tim 2:5, Jesus Christos, The Anointed One's (Messiah's) Name in The Name of Jesus Christ, again, in The Name of Jesus Christ, Jn 14:13-14, The Amen and Faithful Witness, The Originator of the New Creation, Rev 3:14, in Jesus, The One in Whom ALL God's Promises are Yes, and through Him we say, Amen, 2 COr 1:20....

We join with you in this beautiful and urgent prayer and we say amen to your cry that the fear of death would be destroyed among us through what Jesus has already accomplished.

You have prayed according to the will of God, for the Scripture says, Since then the children have shared in flesh and blood, he also himself in the same way partook of the same, that through death he might bring to nothing him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and might deliver all of those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage Heb 2:14-15. That is the gospel truth that death itself has been defeated and its sting removed, and with it the lifelong slavery of fear that the enemy uses to keep hearts in bondage.

We love that you ask for wisdom and revelation to know this more deeply, for we only love because He first loved us 1 Jn 4:19 and we now know in part 1 Cor 13:9 while the secret things belong to the Lord our God Deut 29:29. Yet Scripture exhorts us that love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and all discernment Phil 1:9 and that the Lord make us to increase and abound in love toward one another and toward all men 1 Thes 3:12, and we pray that you abound still more 1 Thes 4:9-10. We agree with you for that abounding, that we would comprehend with greater clarity the love with which God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life Jn 3:16, and the obedience of Christ who humbled himself, becoming obedient to death, yes, the death of the cross, therefore God also highly exalted him Phil 2:8-9.

We pray together for the very thing Paul prayed, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to us a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him, having the eyes of our hearts enlightened, that we may know what is the hope of his calling, and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to that working of the strength of his might which he worked in Christ, when he raised him from the dead Eph 1:17-19. We ask that our hearts would be flooded with light to know the hope to which we were called and the riches of the glory of His inheritance Eph 1:18.

We ask too that He would open our minds to understand the Scriptures Lk 24:45, for apart from Him we err, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God Mk 12:24. How we need His power and His Word together to dispel every shadow of fear.

We take comfort in the living words of our risen Lord, when John saw Him he fell at his feet like a dead man and He laid his right hand on him, saying, Do not be afraid. I am the first and the last, and the Living one. I was dead, and behold, I am alive forever and ever. Amen. I have the keys of Death and of Hades Rev 1:17-18. Because He lives and holds those keys, death no longer holds dominion over us, and we need not be afraid.

So we pray together, Father, we thank You that You have already destroyed the power of death through the death and resurrection of Your Son, and we receive that deliverance now by faith. Flood our hearts with light, grant us wisdom and revelation to know You more, to know the hope of our calling, the riches of Your inheritance, and the exceeding greatness of Your power that raised Christ from the dead. Uproot every lingering fear of death and replace it with the confident hope of eternal life, for we know that without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to him Heb 11:6, and we believe that whatever we ask for in prayer, believe that we have received it, and it will be ours Mk 11:24. We ask this in the name of the one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus 1 Tim 2:5, for whatever we will ask in His name, that He will do Jn 14:13-14, and all the promises of God find their Yes in Him, and in Him we say Amen to the glory of God 2 Cor 1:20, in the name of Jesus Christ, our Amen and faithful witness Rev 3:14.

We hear how deeply you want this truth to move from your head to your heart, not just that Jesus died and rose, but that it actually undoes the grip fear can have over a whole lifetime. That longing itself is a good and honest place to be before the Father.

We have found fear of death often fades not all at once, but as we keep bringing our specific fears into the light with Jesus. It helps to name them plainly before Him, what about death still tightens your chest, loneliness, pain, the unknown, and to let Him meet you there as the Living One who is alive forever and holds the keys. His resurrection is not only hope for later, it is hope for living now, that we are not helpless or alone in these thoughts.

One simple way to keep praying your request is to take that prayer for wisdom and revelation and make it personal each morning for a few minutes, asking Him to show you one small way His power over death changes today, and sharing that with a trusted believer who can walk with you.

Father, we thank You for first loving us and giving Your Son for us. Flood our brother's heart with light to know You more, quiet fear, and fill them with steady peace as they look to Jesus who lives forever. Teach them day by day that they are safe in Your hands. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

It is a good and needful prayer you have laid before the Lord, that you may know more fully what is already accomplished for you in Christ, and feel the power of it in your own heart.

The fear of death is natural to man as a sinner, and in the economy of humanity it answers wise purposes, for it restrains many from sin and sloth. Yet while it is natural to the sinner, it is not necessary to the saint. The Scripture you have quoted tells us plainly where deliverance is to be found, forasmuch as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and deliver those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

Where then shall we look to be delivered from this bondage. We must look to Jesus Christ on the cross atoning for us, in the resurrection rising for us, in glory taking possession of our home for us and at the right hand of God preparing our place for us. He was dead, and behold, He is alive forever and ever, and He holds the keys of death and of Hades. Happy is the man who is in that prepared state, for he need have no fear of death.

You ask rightly to know the exceeding greatness of His power which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead, and this is the very thing the apostle desired, that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection. The resurrection was in itself a marvelous display of power, but the power which comes out of it is even more to be desired. It is an evidencing power, like a seal set to a document to prove its authenticity, it is a justifying power, a life giving power and a consoling power. By that same power you were raised from your death in sin, for your own regeneration was as remarkable an instance of divine power as the resurrection itself shall be. And that same power shall yet complete your salvation in the deliverance of your body from the bondage of corruption, when this mortal shall put on immortality.

So we join you in prayer that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, would give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, that the eyes of your understanding being enlightened, you may know what is the hope of His calling, and what the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints. We ask that He would open your mind to understand the Scriptures and to know the power of God, that you may hear Christ Himself say, Fear not, I am the First and the Last, the Living One.

If you would get rid of the fear of death, use the telescope very frequently. Look often to Christ risen and ascended, and to the place He has gone to prepare for you, and remember that the God who raises the dead is your hope. May your heart be flooded with light to know that death is destroyed, the devil's power is broken, and you are no longer enslaved to fear, but are kept by that same mighty power unto glory.

We commend you to that power in the name of the one Mediator, Jesus Christ, in whom all the promises of God are Yes and Amen.

We thank God with you for this prayer, for it asks for what God is pleased to give, wisdom and revelation to know Him and the power He exerted when He raised Christ from the dead.

You have asked well that fear of death would be destroyed among believers, for Scripture says that Christ shared in flesh and blood so that by His death He might defeat him who had the power of death, that is the devil, and liberate those who through fear of death were enslaved all their lives. Before Christ came, death held men as in a prison, and even while they enjoyed comforts they lived in continual expectation of the sentence. But now Christ has taken away that fear. He conquered death by the very means by which death seemed strong, by dying Himself, and in doing so He brought to nothing the tyranny of the devil. For when a soul no longer counts even its life dear, of what can the devil make it a slave. The loss of property, honor, or home are small matters to one who no longer fears death, and such a soul is higher than all and more free than all.

Therefore we pray with you that God would open your minds to understand the Scriptures and the power of God, as He opened the minds of the disciples, and that He would flood your hearts with light to know the hope to which you were called and the riches of the glory of His inheritance and the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe. That power is the same that raised Jesus and seated Him above all. You do not need to strive to create this power, only to see what has already been accomplished and to stand in it.

Hear again what the Lord says to John and to you, Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last, the Living One. I was dead, and behold I am alive forever and ever, and I hold the keys of Death and of Hades. From the time Christ rose, death for His people is no longer death in the old sense, but sleep. As He said of the little girl, she is not dead but sleeping, so He has prepared His disciples to be of good courage. The sting is removed.

So do not fear those who can kill the body but are not able to kill the soul. Fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell, and let that holy fear free you from all lesser fears. You have not received a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power and of love and of a sound mind. Stand then nobly, laughing death to scorn, conformed to His death that you may also share in the power of His resurrection, whether by life or by death magnifying Christ in your body.

We ask the Father, in the name of Jesus Christ the one Mediator in whom all the promises of God are Yes, to grant you this earnest expectation and hope, that in nothing you will be put to shame, but with all boldness Christ will be magnified in you, and that you will live more sweetly and freely than those who seem to have no affliction, because you know that death is defeated and the keys are in the hand of the Living One who loves you.
