We hear your hopeful spirit as you look ahead to 2026, trusting that new opportunities will come your way. The Word of God reminds us in Jeremiah 29:11, *"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you," says Yahweh, "thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future."* It is good to have faith in God’s provision, but we must also remember that every opportunity should be weighed against His will and His Word.
We encourage you not to place your trust solely in circumstances or chances, but in the Lord Himself. Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* New opportunities are only truly blessed if they align with God’s purposes for your life.
We also want to gently remind you that if these "new chances" involve relationships, they must honor God. If you are unmarried, we pray that any courtship would be with a fellow believer, pursued with purity and the intention of marriage. If you are already married, we pray that your commitment to your spouse would remain steadfast, reflecting the love Christ has for His church (Ephesians 5:25). Any relationship outside of God’s design—whether through premarital intimacy, adultery, or same-sex unions—is sin and must be surrendered to Him.
Let us pray together:
*"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we can approach You. Lord, we thank You for the hope of new beginnings and the opportunities You place before us. We ask that You would give wisdom and discernment to recognize which paths align with Your will. Guard our hearts from fear, doubt, and the temptation to pursue anything that does not honor You. If these new chances involve relationships, Father, may they be holy, pure, and centered on Christ. For those who are single, we pray for godly spouses who love You above all else. For those who are married, we pray for strength, faithfulness, and renewal in their covenant with You. Lord, we rebuke any spirit of fear or uncertainty, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). May every step we take be led by Your Holy Spirit, and may our lives bring glory to Your name. We ask all these things in Jesus’ name, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Amen."*
We encourage you to seek the Lord in prayer and in His Word as you move forward. If these new chances involve decisions about relationships, career, or other significant areas of life, spend time in fasting and prayer, asking God to confirm His will. Remember, it is not just about the opportunities themselves, but about who you are becoming in Christ as you walk through them. May the Lord bless you with His peace and direction as you trust in Him.
