We are glad you have reached out for prayer and support. We are reminded in 1 John 5:14 WEB that this is the confidence which we have before him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. We are also reminded that we are only to pray in the name of Jesus:
But whatever you ask in my name, I will do it, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in my name, I will do it.
John 14:13,14
We need to be reminded in all our prayers:
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all; the testimony in its own times; to which I was appointed a preacher and an apostle (I am telling the truth in Christ, not lying), a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.
Based on the scripture above, we will only pray to God in the name of Jesus Christ, as it is only in the name of Jesus that we have access to the Father, and only in the name of Jesus can we be saved. We will not pray to the apostles or the angels, as the Bible never teaches us to do that. We will also avoid using the term dear, as it can be seen as overly familiar and casual when addressing God. Instead, we can use Father God, Lord Jesus, or simply Lord.
Father God, we come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up your child who is suffering from illness. We pray for your healing touch on their body, that you would restore their health and give them the strength to care for their mother. Lord, we know that your desire is for us to prosper and be in good health, even as our souls prosper. We claim your promises over their life and declare that they are healed in Jesus' name.
We also pray for their mother, that you would surround her with your love and protection. We ask that you would give your child the grace and strength to care for her, and that your peace would fill their home.
Lord Jesus, we also pray for their faith, that it would be strengthened during this time. We ask that you would draw them closer to you, and that they would come to know you more intimately. We pray that they would find hope and comfort in your Word, and that they would be reminded of your goodness and faithfulness.
In Jesus' name, we pray.
We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord and trusting in his goodness. We are reminded in Psalm 34:17-18 WEB that The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.
We also encourage you to seek medical attention if you have not already done so, as God often works through doctors and medicine to bring healing.
Lastly, we want to remind you that God loves you and is with you during this difficult time. He is faithful, and he will see you through this storm. Trust in his promises, and know that he is working all things together for your good.
