We rejoice with you in your heart of gratitude and your desire to serve the Lord! It is beautiful to see your thankfulness for the blessings He has provided, including your jobs and the provision He has given. However, we must address something of great importance in your request. While you have expressed thanks to God, we notice that the name of Jesus Christ is not invoked in your prayer. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name by which we can be saved. As Scripture tells us:
*"Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.’"* (John 14:6, WEB)
*"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12, WEB)
We encourage you to always pray in the name of Jesus, for He is our Mediator and the only path to the Father. If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so. Salvation comes through repentance and believing in Him—confessing with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9-10).
Now, let us address your desire to serve the Lord. Your willingness to be used by Him is commendable, and we pray that He will open doors for you to serve in ways that align with His will. Remember, service to the Lord begins with a heart fully surrendered to Him. Seek Him first in prayer, in His Word, and through fellowship with other believers. Ask Him to reveal the gifts and talents He has given you, and trust that He will place you where He wants you to be.
*"Serve Yahweh with gladness. Come before his presence with singing."* (Psalm 100:2, WEB)
*"For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them."* (Ephesians 2:10, WEB)
We also notice that you mentioned "### and I" in your prayer. If this refers to a romantic relationship, we encourage you to examine whether this relationship honors God. If you are not married, we urge you to pursue a relationship that aligns with biblical principles—one that is founded on faith in Christ, with the goal of marriage between a man and a woman. If you are living together outside of marriage, we must lovingly but firmly remind you that this is fornication, which is a sin against God. Scripture is clear:
*"Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed is undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers."* (Hebrews 13:4, WEB)
*"Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body."* (1 Corinthians 6:18, WEB)
If this applies to your situation, we urge you to repent and seek God’s forgiveness. Turn away from sin and pursue holiness, trusting that God’s ways are for your good. If you are already married, we pray that your union would be strengthened and centered on Christ, and that you would both seek to serve Him together.
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we lift up this precious soul before You, thanking You for the heart of gratitude they have for the blessings You have provided. Lord, we ask that You would draw them closer to You, revealing to them the depth of Your love and the power of the name of Jesus. If they have not yet surrendered their life to Christ, we pray that today would be the day of salvation for them. Open their eyes to see Jesus as their Lord and Savior, and fill them with Your Holy Spirit.
Father, we ask that You would show them where You want them to serve. Give them wisdom and discernment to recognize the opportunities You place before them. Equip them with the gifts and strength they need to fulfill the good works You have prepared for them. Help them to walk in obedience and faith, trusting that You will guide their steps.
Lord, we also lift up their relationship with ###. If they are not married, we pray that You would convict them of any sin in their relationship and lead them to repentance. Help them to honor You in their courtship, keeping it pure and centered on You, with the goal of a Christ-honoring marriage. If they are married, we pray that You would strengthen their bond, helping them to serve You together as one. May their relationship be a testimony of Your grace and love.
We rebuke any influence of the enemy that would seek to distract them from Your will or lead them into sin. Cover them with Your protection, Lord, and surround them with godly counsel and fellowship.
We pray all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
