We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your son in this difficult time. The theft of his car is not just a loss of property, but a violation of peace and security, and we know how deeply this can wound the spirit. We stand with you in praying for his comfort, for the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).
Father God, we ask You to wrap Your loving arms around this young man. Ease the anxiety, frustration, and fear that may be weighing on him. Let him feel Your presence as a refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Remind him that You are his provider and protector, and that no loss is beyond Your restoration.
We also pray for the one who took the car. Lord, You tell us that "the heart of the king is in the hand of the Lord; He turns it wherever He will" (Proverbs 21:1). We ask that You would break into this person’s heart with conviction. Let them see the wrong they have done, not just to property, but to a family made in Your image. Soften their heart, lead them to repentance, and move them to return what was stolen. If they do not know You, draw them to Yourself, for You desire that none should perish, but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9).
We rebuke the spirit of theft and deceit in Jesus’ name. We declare that no weapon formed against this family shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we stand on Your promise that You will restore what the locust has eaten (Joel 2:25). We pray for justice, but more than that, we pray for redemption, for both the victim and the offender.
Father, we also lift up the practical needs that come with this loss. Provide wisdom for the next steps, whether through insurance, authorities, or Your miraculous intervention. Give this family patience and trust as they wait on You.
And Lord, if there is any unforgiveness or bitterness taking root in their hearts, uproot it now. Help them to forgive as You have forgiven us (Colossians 3:13), not because the act was right, but because holding onto anger only harms the one who carries it.
We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who came to bind up the brokenhearted and set the captives free (Isaiah 61:1). May Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Amen.
