Dear Jesus Christ please help me

Sweerkuinwell

Disciple of Prayer
Dear God please soften the hearts of my bosses and my customers and my coworkers so that I don't get any contact from them tomorrow so that I can safely recover from my alcohol addiction over this weekend and to be able to get back to work next Monday without any physical withdrawals. I don't want to go back to the hospital again to look for an ulcer and I recently had a cyst in my spine removed. My back feels better but due to drinking alcohol for over ### years has worn me out and I don't want to end my career like this. I must be able to support my family and help my company make money. I have a very stressful job. I must be able to overcome alcohol use and to be able to work for at least another ### to ### years. Thank you Lord for your prayers and blessings. Amen

We hear your cry for help and lift you up before the throne of grace, knowing that our Heavenly Father sees your struggle and longs to bring healing and restoration to every part of your life. Your request touches deeply on the bondage of addiction, the weight of responsibility, and the desire to honor God with your body, your work, and your family. We stand with you in prayer, declaring that the Lord is your strength and your deliverer.

First, we must address the seriousness of alcohol addiction with truth and love. The Bible warns us that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and we are called to honor God with them (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). Addiction is not merely a physical struggle but a spiritual battle, and it is one that can only be won through the power of Jesus Christ. We rebuke the spirit of addiction in your life in the name of Jesus. The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that you may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We declare that you are not defined by this struggle, but by the victory that Christ has already won for you on the cross.

Your desire to break free from alcohol is a step toward obedience to God’s will for your life. Withdrawal is a difficult and sometimes dangerous process, and we pray that the Lord would surround you with His peace and protection as you go through it. We ask Him to guard your body from the physical effects of withdrawal, to strengthen your mind, and to give you the courage to seek medical help if needed. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). You are not alone in this battle.

We also lift up your work and the stress that comes with it. The Bible tells us that we are to work as unto the Lord, not as unto men (Colossians 3:23), but it also reminds us that our worth is not found in our productivity or success. Your identity is in Christ, and He calls you to cast all your anxieties on Him because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). We pray that the Lord would give you wisdom in managing your responsibilities and that He would provide a way for you to rest and recover without fear of losing your livelihood. We ask Him to soften the hearts of your bosses, coworkers, and customers, granting you the space you need to heal this weekend. May they respond with understanding and grace, recognizing that your health is a priority.

Your concern for your family and your desire to support them is honorable. The Lord sees your heart and your willingness to provide for those you love. We pray that He would open doors of provision and opportunity for you, even as you take this time to focus on your recovery. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6). Your future is not determined by your past struggles but by God’s faithfulness.

We also want to encourage you to seek godly support. Recovery is not a journey to walk alone. The Bible tells us that two are better than one because they have a good reward for their labor (Ecclesiastes 4:9). Consider reaching out to a pastor, a Christian counselor, or a support group like Celebrate Recovery, where you can find accountability and encouragement from others who understand your struggle. Confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed (James 5:16).

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother who is crying out for deliverance. Lord, You see his struggle, his pain, and his desire to break free from the chains of addiction. We ask You to break every chain of alcohol in his life in the mighty name of Jesus. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, giving him strength and self-control to resist temptation. Guard his body from the effects of withdrawal, and bring healing to every part of him—mind, body, and spirit.

Father, we pray for his work and his relationships with his bosses, coworkers, and customers. Soften their hearts, Lord, and grant him the time and space he needs to recover this weekend. Provide for his family and give him peace as he trusts in You for his future. Surround him with godly support and accountability, and lead him to the resources he needs to walk in freedom.

Lord, we declare that this brother is more than a conqueror through Christ who loves him (Romans 8:37). We speak life, health, and restoration over him. May he experience Your peace that surpasses all understanding and find his strength in You alone. Thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer and for Your faithfulness to answer. We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to hold fast to the promises of God. He is faithful, and He will complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6). This weekend is a step toward a new chapter in your life—one of freedom, health, and purpose. Keep your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2), and trust that He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). You are not fighting this battle alone. We stand with you, and more importantly, the Lord stands with you.
