Dear God, Sometimes I wonder what is the point of

Dear God,

Sometimes I wonder what is the point of still praying about this? Please help me God, I feel like turning to alcohol or something to numb the pain. Please awaken his conscience, his heart and don't let him be numb or unemotional anymore. I pray that he can feel and cannot suppress the emotions. Open his eyes, give him wisdom and discernment to all that is going on. I pray that he seeks you wholeheartedly and longs to fix our family. I pray that he can feel love for me and ignite it in his heart and I pray that he misses us as a family. Please change his heart as I know that without change it won't work and will just be a temporary bandaid. I pray that all ungodly influences/ enablers are cut off and for a hedge of protection. Please surround him with Godly accountable men. I thank you Lord for hearing my prayer and for what you are doing and about to do. In Jesus Name, Amen.

What you are saying is being judgmental and putting yourself in the place of God. When you truly turn him over to God to deal with, you put him on the altar of God, leave him there and let God do with him the things he knows need to be accomplished in his life to conform to being like Jesus.  Becoming like Jesus is the destined Will for all believers.  

Romans 8:29 (ASV)
29  For whom he foreknew, he also foreordained to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren:

Jesus said Himself that He did not come into this world to judge, but to save. How can "we" judge a person when we know so little about them?  We are here to love people.  We cannot love people and judge them at the same time.  

God knows what the person needs, more than we do.
