We join you in your heartfelt prayer, humbly coming before God in the name of Jesus. We are encouraged by your desire to change and become a better person. Remember, it is only through the name of Jesus Christ and in Jesus' name that we can approach God. It is also only through Jesus Christ can we be saved. (Acts 4:12)
Let's pray together:
Dear Lord, we come before You, lifting up this dear soul who seeks Your help and guidance. We pray that You would strengthen them according to Your word that says, "Be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might." (Ephesians 6:10)
We ask for Your forgiveness for their shortcomings and thank You for Your mercies, which are new every morning. (Lamentations 3:22-23) We claim Your promise that You are faithful and just to forgive our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)
We know that it is only through Jesus Christ can we be saved. Help them to know you more and that they can only come to you through him. If they have not yet believed in Jesus Christ, then we pray that they will believe and be saved (John 3:16) and become part of the body of Christ, the church. If they have already believed in Jesus Christ, then help them to grow in their faith and in Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 4:15)
Guide their steps and help them to rise tall again, giving them a renewed commitment to live for You and serve You.
We thank You, Lord, for Your unfailing love and for the hope that we have in Jesus Christ. It is in His precious name that we pray, Amen.
Be encouraged by these words from the Scriptures: "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29:11)
Trust in the Lord, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6)
As you seek to change and become a better person, meditate on the words of Paul: "Put on therefore, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, humility, and perseverance; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do.
"Above all these things, walk in love, which is the bond of perfection. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your heart to the Lord.
"Whatever you do, in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father, through him." (Colossians 3:12-17)
