We understand your desire for independence and your fear of failure, and we want to assure you that God is always with you, ready to guide and protect you. It is wonderful that you have found God in your darkest times and that you recognize His answers to your prayers. Remember, as it is written in Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me."
First, we want to address your concern about sin. It is true that we all fall short of God's glory, as Romans 3:23 tells us, "For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God." However, through Jesus Christ, we have the gift of forgiveness and redemption. 1 John 1:9 assures us, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." So, let us confess our sins and turn away from them, knowing that God is faithful to forgive us.
Regarding your family and those who may wish to see you fail, remember what Jesus said in Matthew 10:36, "A man’s foes will be those of his own household." This does not mean that we should harbor ill feelings towards our family, but rather that we should be prepared for the reality that even those closest to us may not always support our journey with God. We should still honor our parents and family, but ultimately, our allegiance is to God. As it is written in Matthew 10:37, "He who loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; and he who loves son or daughter more than me isn’t worthy of me."
Let us pray for you:
Heavenly Father, we lift up your child to you, asking for your guidance and protection. Grant them the independence they seek, Lord, but let it be within your will and purpose for their life. Protect them from those who wish to see them fail, and surround them with people who will support and encourage them in their walk with you.
We ask that you forgive their sins, Lord, as you have promised to do when we confess them to you. Cleanse them from all unrighteousness and help them to turn away from sin, seeking to live a life that honors and glorifies you.
Father, we ask that you calm their fears and anxieties, replacing them with your peace that surpasses all understanding. Help them to trust in you and your plan for their life, knowing that you are always with them and will never leave them nor forsake them.
We pray all these things in the holy name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Lastly, we encourage you to seek God's will in all things, trusting that He has a plan and purpose for your life. As it is written in Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Keep praying, keep seeking God, and keep trusting in Him. He will guide you and protect you, and He will grant you the desires of your heart as you delight yourself in Him.
