Now for some more specific prayers: I have a special prayer request here: I'm considering becoming a kidney donor for a local kid named Justin. God knows all of the details. Please ask Him to show me if this is what He wants me to do. Please pray for my friend Dreu. She's having a tough time right now. This season brings back too many bad memories (the loss of some close relatives). That coupled with the fact her three daughters won't be able to visit her for Christmas is really bringing her down. Pray for her kids too, Beka, Liz, Sarah, and David. Please continue praying for Amy and her mama. No word yet on her condition yet. That’s not necessarily bad. Pray for the entire family. Pray for me too. About a month ago I went under the knife for a shoulder injury. It seemed like it was healing up nicely. While preparing a meal for my folks the other day I may have over-done it. It’s more than uncomfortable, it hurts. I’ve had to start back on the painkillers (which I’m not all that thrilled about). On the bright side those pills dull the pain just enough to keep me from going medieval on anyone because I don’t apparently deal with chronic pain very well. Please pray for the situation involving my son Josh, his girlfriend Brianna and her child, my granddaughter Daniel, and my mom and her boyfriend Doris and Tom. Several years ago Danielle’s mom committed suicide. Josh and Danielle still haven’t really come to terms with that tragic set circumstances. Josh just holds in all in (kinda like his dad would do). Danielle has been acting out a lot lately (telling lies and making up stories, fighting at school, refusing to listen to anyone in authority, and quite frankly acting as if she has some sort of schizoaffective disorder. It’s causing considerable problems throughout the family. My mom wants to let Danielle express herself and run wild with no limits or boundaries. It’s causing a considerable amount of stress in an area where the stress is taking its toll. Her boyfriend Tom has suffered a number of mini-strokes lately. His health is declining rapidly, as are his cognitive abilities. It’s like he is sitting there but has no clue quite often as to what is going on around him. Having a seven-year old running around the house isn’t something he needs to deal with. Pray too that Tom's family would start making an effort to spend some quality time with him before it’s too late. He’s got some great stories to share, and could use some fresh ears to share them with. Pray for the rest of my family, especially my Howard, Clara, Miguel, Myrna, Glenda, Sean, Cort, Kymmie, Shannon, Kevin, Kelly, Patrick, Scott, Barbara, Julie, Robert, Laurie, Janet, Debbie, Jeff, and the countless distant relatives, ex-wives, ex-girlfriends, and ex-stepchildren that I haven’t seen in years. This entire family could definitely use a major amount of prayer. Oh, and please don’t forget me. I’ve got issues at work (my hours have been cut) and I’m feeling like I need to look for a new job. And Please ask our Heavenly Father to help me in being nicer to people and to lose my holier than thou attitude (apparently I’ve very good and finding fault in people and the way they do things). Pray for my general health (it’s been a long time since I’ve felt good). Don’t forget my shoulder too. Let’s see, I’m about 90 pounds overweight, I’ve got bad teeth and gums, I need glasses, I don’t exercise and I’ve got some serious family and relationship issues to deal with. Let’s not forget my emotional and psychological issue. I’ve been a drug addict, I’m a convicted felon, according to one doc I’ve suffered far too many concussions, I’ve been married and divorced three times, and I can’t seem to work within a budget. At the present time I’m slumming it in a run-down trailer on the back 40 of some family property with my two dogs. Don’t get me wrong, I’m thankful for what I have, it’s just I’m feeling like a flake and would really like to see God help me out of this situation I’ve gotten myself into. Please ask our Heavenly Father to help me find the right words to use when I’m dealing with folks who find it impossible to believe the Word of God, who refuse to accept any and all of the Truth found in the Holy Scriptures, yet they have no problems whatsoever believing in the lies of the Devil. They swallow and earnestly believe every conspiracy theory that comes their way. They hold fast to the traditions of Wicca, practice Astrology and Numerology, and consult Psychics and Tarot cards. They believe God’s Word to be foolish and anxiously await a word of wisdom from long dead philosophers, relatives, and friends through Mediums and Soothsayers, or anyone with the “gift†of Clairvoyance. They seek the approval of any number of mythical deities, including faeries, elves, and gnomes. These folks believe in UFOs and extra-terrestrials, but think Biblical references to Angels or Demons are simply faerie tales (or proof of the existence of visitors from other planets). In their minds they truly believe that some distant Galactic Federation will soon visit our realm and miraculously resolve all of the ills that place mankind. Please pray for the small town I live in. After 20 or more years I’ve witnessed a lot of change, but the small town atmosphere never seemed to go away. Now it seems as if those folks in the positions of power want to turn this small “drinking town with a fishing problem†into something it’s not. We have a serious drug problem (pills, heroin, meth, and Lord knows what else) that’s drawing our youth down a road that usually ends with time living in the Grey Bar Motel or worse, taking the long nap (six-feet under) or resting in an urn on the living room mantle. Instead of admitting there is a problem our civic leaders choose to ignore it with the hopes it will go away and instead focus on ways to make this area more metropolitan. It’s depressing. Please continue praying for Jason as he recovers from back surgery. Pray for Roxanne who had to resign her post because of her failing health. Please continue praying for David, his brother Jack, his immediate family, his acquaintances, his employees, and all of his gambling and “off the book†friends who not only believe they are above the law, but feel they have the right and the duty to ridicule and insult those of us who don’t see eye to eye with them and they way they perform a laundry list of questionable business practices and outright illegal activities. These same folks have no problem making veiled threats toward those who “disagree†with them while smiling and shaking hands and making others believe they’re just a bunch of good old boys out having a little fun. These are evil people corrupting everything they touch. They will destroy a reputation by spreading vicious lies and damaging rumors. Please ask God to cause these folks to repent and fix the damage they have intentionally done. Please ask our Heavenly Father to shut them down before someone gets hurt. Pray for Virginia who has been having a tough time of it. Over the past 11 years or more she’s made one bad decision after another. She’ burnt every bridge in sight and has lost all of her friends and broken the ties with most of her family. She’s is an addict and has the attitude that she can do no wrong, in fact if anything goes wrong she’s the victim and she can take anything she wants and do anything she wants with no consequence. She steals and figures it’s owed to her. She owes her family hundreds of thousands of dollars. She owes me more than $12,000.00 for money and belongings she has stolen or borrowed. Please ask God to put it on her heart to at least attempt to make restitution. Pray for her son Chris, a convicted drug dealer and an addict who seems to be using and dealing again. Pray for her older son Bradley, who outwardly appears to be doing fine, but is involved with folks “working†the wrong side of the law in our small town. Pray for her daughter Candace who is always of the opinion that she's better than everyone else and above reproach. It's time for an attitude adjustment. Pray also for other daughter Bridgette. She’s working herself to death by trying to keep her mom’s daycare center afloat and covering a small portion of her mom’s debts. Please pray for her boyfriend Joe too. Pray for Joe’s kids Emma and Wes who have witnessed many things grade school aged kids just shouldn’t see. Ask that God's Will be done in all of their lives. Please continue praying for Bobby and Lynette. They’re probably in need of some financial help as well. Pray for their kids too. Please pray for Kevin. He has some serious control and anger issues that appear to be destroying his family. Pray for Chris. He’s a former high school drug dealer and a recovering addict. Please pray for my mom and her boyfriend Tom. He has some fairly serious health issues and I’m afraid he may not be around too much longer. Ask that God’s Will be done in both of their lives. Pray for Leighanne who is not only recovering from a stroke, but is in serious financial hardship as well. Please pray for Liz and her family. This poor kid is finally out of prison and needs help getting her life back together. Help her entire family. Please pray for Megan and her children. Her husband is going to prison for about three years and she’s got a lot to deal with such as raising her three or four girls by herself, etc. Pray for Jennifer who is now engaged to be married. Ask that His Will be done in her life, the life of her fiance, and the lives of their children. Please pray for Mary Kate. She’s battling cancer. Pray for her family too. Pray for Tori who has just moved to Hawaii. Pray for Danielle, who has moved away. Pray for our elected officials at all levels of government (federal, state, county, local; and the overseas or foreign equivalents too). Ask God to help them to make the right decisions to benefit mankind. Pray also for those who serve and protect us, also at the local, county, state, and federal levels, plus the foreign or overseas counterparts, including police officers, sheriff’s deputies, constables, marshals, sheriffs, border and customs officers, forest and park rangers, security officer, corrections officers, and parking and traffic control officers; pray also for those working as firefighters, EMTs, EMS, Paramedics, Search and Rescue, and Volunteers. Please pray for those in uniform, the ones who serve and protect us. I’m talking about the members of our armed forces like the Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Merchant Marines, Army, Reservists, and National Guard; and all of the Retirees, Veterans, and their family members; plus any and all of their overseas or foreign counterparts. Please pray for Kathleen and her children. They have all had a rough time of it with the loss of her husband (a retired Army veteran) to cancer. Pray for Farhan, his family, and his congregation up in prayer. These folks are living, worshiping, and working in a war-torn, predominantly Muslim part of the world. They face daily persecution and need our prayers. Please pray for Elizabeth who is experiencing some financial hardship. She is also trying to raise two autistic kids. Please ask God to cause musicians like Bobby, Phil, Darryl, Karen, Barry, and Oden to participate in such a gathering of Born Again performers. Please pray for the close friends, co-workers, and families of: Jane, Gary, Alice, Aussy, Greg, Marion, Shannon, Annie, Ben, Jennifer, Jarrae, Martha, Kianna, Vipul, Alex, Matthew, Brandon, Jennifer, Alejandro, Joel, Albin, Helen, Bruce, George, Benjamin, David, Joyce, Bill, Tom, Joseph, Ruth, Marilyn, Jack, Brittany, Lahoma, Andrea, Lexandra, Lexi, Simon, Ronald, John, Ernesto, Charles, Gia, Audrey, Brett, Jaylen, Adam, Mike, Dane, Al, Andrew, Michael, Lester, Mike, Chris, Ryan, Eddie, Sam, Freedom, Ted, Rob, Jane, John, Erika, Carol, RC and Jennifer. These folks recently passed away and their survivors need our Heavenly Father’s help in dealing with their losses. Please pray for Eddie and his wife Genie. Please continue praying for the folks living in Ukraine. Pray too for the folks in Ferguson and St. Louis. Please don't forget the folks living in and around Napa. Please remember to pray for all of the students, staff, neighbors, friends, families, first responders, media folks, medical staff, and anyone else dealing with the fatal shooting at Marysville High School in Western Washington. Please continue praying also for the elderly man who was struck by a deputy sheriff's vehicle. Pray for the deputy too. Pray that our new sheriff will do a most excellent job dealing with our local meth and heroin issues, that he would rapidly gain the support of the community, and that he will be able to find someone to replace our under-sheriff who quite frankly had no business wearing a badge of a uniform. Only our Heavenly Father can fix these messes. I ask this in Jesus Name. Amen.
