Dealing with raccoon scare

My grand child was bitten by raccoon which has I had trapped. She nipped his index finger. I am scared for rabies which these usually carry. Kid was given shots of tetanus. The raccoon was turned over to the wild life removal service Hawkeye Bird and animal Control specialists ( http://www.hawkeye.ca/pest-wildlife-animals ). I don't want to harm the animal either. Such wildlife removal services would relocate them it seems. Need all prayers. I would like all parents to be careful whn delaing with such incidents.
