Beloved of All
Good morning, I am praying about deadlines which have passed. There was a deadline to sign a renewal lease which included a rent increase but I didn't sign it. I was told that the lease could help me to get assistance, but it would take some months to get a final decision. I’m ### behind on rent after leaving the abusive workplace. Prior to that, I used my savings to pay rent and once they ran out, the arrears began to accumulate. I feel like a giant weight is on me right now because I’m confused. There are external voices telling me to sign the lease and wait two months to see if the assistance program needs an eviction notice before they will actually help. Or not sign the lease and still be evicted as a holdover. Either way, I have no income and no trusted family or friends around. I did apply for govt assistance and decertified for the assistance. Life is not easy. I totally regret leaving a toxic work environment where I held a steady paycheck and now I’m in a worse spot with all of this lease back and forth and don’t know if I’ll be living here or moving. Father, I’m drowning right now under the pressure to give an answer. I may just sign the lease just to get it out of the way. I can’t afford it right now and the situation is stressing me out. Satan is mocking me and saying that I’m defeated and homeless. I can’t take the onslaught anymore.

We hear your cry for help and lift you up before the throne of grace, where our Heavenly Father sees your struggle and knows the weight you carry. The stress of deadlines, financial strain, and uncertainty about your living situation is overwhelming, and we stand with you in prayer, asking God to intervene and provide clarity, peace, and provision.

First, we want to acknowledge the courage it took to leave an abusive workplace. God does not call us to endure toxicity or harm, and He sees your decision to prioritize your well-being. However, the enemy seeks to exploit your vulnerability, whispering lies of defeat and despair. We rebuke those voices in the name of Jesus Christ. Satan is a liar, and his accusations have no power over you as a child of God. The Word declares, *"No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that accuses you in judgment. This is the heritage of the Lord’s servants, and their righteousness is from me," says the Lord* (Isaiah 54:17). You are not defeated, and you are not without hope.

The confusion surrounding your lease and housing situation is understandable, but we encourage you to seek wisdom from the Lord above all else. *"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him"* (James 1:5). The voices urging you to sign the lease or wait for assistance may have their own motives, but you must seek God’s direction first. Pray for discernment about whether signing the lease aligns with His will for your provision and protection. If you feel pressured to make a decision out of fear, remember that *"God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind"* (2 Timothy 1:7). You do not have to rush into a choice that may not be the best for your situation.

We also want to address the financial strain you’re facing. It is clear that you are doing your best to seek help, and we pray that God opens doors for assistance and provision. The government programs you applied to may not have worked out, but the Lord is your ultimate provider. *"And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus"* (Philippians 4:19). We encourage you to reach out to local churches or Christian organizations that may offer financial counseling, rental assistance, or temporary housing solutions. Do not hesitate to ask for help—God often provides through the hands and hearts of His people.

Your feelings of regret and isolation are valid, but we urge you not to let them define your future. The enemy wants you to focus on the past and the "what ifs," but God calls you to trust Him with your present and future. *"For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord, "plans for peace and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope"* (Jeremiah 29:11). Even in this storm, God is working for your good. You are not alone, though it may feel that way. The Lord is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).

We also want to gently remind you of the importance of coming to God through Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not already, we encourage you to surrender your life to Jesus, confessing Him as your Lord and Savior. He is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6), and in Him, you will find peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister in Christ, lifting up their heavy heart and overwhelming circumstances. Lord, You see the stress, the confusion, and the financial strain they are under. We ask that You would intervene in this situation and provide clarity and wisdom. Give them discernment about the lease and housing decisions they must make. If signing the lease is Your will, open the doors for assistance and provision. If it is not, reveal another path and provide for their needs in a way that only You can.

Father, we rebuke the lies of the enemy that seek to convince them they are defeated or without hope. Remind them of Your promises and Your faithfulness. Surround them with Your peace, which transcends all understanding, and guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Lord, we ask that You would open doors for financial help, whether through government programs, churches, or other resources. Provide for their every need according to Your riches in glory.

We also pray for their emotional and spiritual well-being. The weight of this situation is heavy, and we ask that You would lift the burden from their shoulders. Remind them that they are not alone—You are with them, and You will never leave nor forsake them. Strengthen their faith and help them to trust in You, even when the path ahead is unclear.

Lord, if they have not yet surrendered their life to You, we pray that they would do so now. Draw them close to You and let them experience the peace and hope that comes from knowing Jesus as their Savior. Help them to cast all their anxieties on You, for You care for them (1 Peter 5:7).

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

In the days ahead, we encourage you to hold fast to God’s promises and to seek His face daily. Spend time in prayer and in the Word, allowing His truth to replace the lies of the enemy. Reach out to local believers who can walk alongside you during this time. You are not forgotten, and you are not without hope. The Lord is your strength, and He will sustain you. Keep pressing forward, one step at a time, trusting that He is guiding your path.

Hey there,

We're here with you, feeling the weight of those deadlines and the stress they bring. It's like we're carrying a heavy backpack, and it's getting tough to keep going. But remember, we're not alone. Jesus is right here with us, every step of the way.

We've been thinking about your situation with the lease and the rent increase. It's a tough call, isn't it? On one hand, there are voices telling you to sign the lease and wait for assistance. On the other hand, there's the uncertainty of whether that help will actually come through. It's enough to make anyone's head spin.

But here's what we know: God is in control. He sees you, He knows your struggle, and He cares. He's not going to leave you hanging. So, let's pause, take a deep breath, and ask Him for wisdom. Let's pray together:

"Dear Lord, we're feeling overwhelmed right now. We don't know what to do about the lease, and the financial strain is real. But we trust You. We trust that You have a plan, and that You're working things out for our good. Give us wisdom, Lord. Help us to hear Your voice above all the other noise. Show us what to do, one step at a time. And Lord, we ask for provision. We need help, and we trust that You'll provide in Your perfect timing. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Let's keep praying, keep trusting, and keep moving forward. One step at a time, with Jesus leading the way. We're in this together, friend.
