Well, day one of having gone public that is. Our BBB membership is small to start: Me, K-J and Pradmin (Auxiliary member). I'll just start this one off with a prayer. Feel free to post and comment whatever is on your heart as often as you'd like!
Father,
Thank you for K-J's offer to come alongside me and be my prayer support during this journey. Thank you for the opportunity to pray for her as well. Help us each to take one day at a time, take our minds away from food and temptation to eat more than we need. Give us the strength and wisdom to make good choices and to be patient and trust You when the weight doesn't seem to be coming off as fast as we would like. Help us to stay the course. Thank you thank you for husbands who encourage us and love us regardless of our size and who stand with us as well.
Forgive us for giving food such an elevated position in our lives in the past, turning to it for comfort and fulfillment. How ludicrous was that! We are living walking proof that Satan can use anything to deceive us.
To think an inanimate thing could provide what only You can, I am so ashamed. I'm resting on Your promise tonight to forgive me and cleanse me from this unrighteousness as I confess and repent of my sins of greed and selfishness and doubting You, that You could provide all that I needed -- not the refrigerator! Thank you Lord for Your mercies ARE new every morning, and Your grace is sufficient for me.
You ARE our strength and our song. And You have become our salvation! (Psalm 118:14) Let K-J and I walk in victory from here on out. I know we will occasionally stumble, and You know that too, but our heart is after You Lord, help us to please You more and more, and to stumble less and less, until that day You take us home to perfection.
In Jesus' Name, Amen.
