Today's Encouraging Words
Day By Day
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in his entire splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” (Matthew 6:25-34)
We often dwell on the past and look to the future. But these thoughts prevent us from fully experiencing the present. The Bible says in Psalm 118:24, "This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:24 tells us to enjoy this day (today) and to forget the errors of yesterday and the worries of the future.
We are to do God's will today and rejoice in the beautiful day that God has provided. God has forgiven our past and will take care of our future. Jesus says, "Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring worries of its own. Today's trouble is enough for today." (Matthew 6:34)
Trusting the Lord with our pasts and our futures will allow us to live each day by glorifying God.
“Trust In Him”
When I am surrounded by the darkness of the world, when it seems I shall be defeated, I shall call upon God and fully trust Him!
Have A Great God Day!
Today’s Prayer…
Lord, support us all day long until shadows lengthen, evening comes, the busy world is hushed, the fever of life is over and our life's work is done. In the name of your son Jesus - Amen!
