Pride comes in many forms for me: thinking I have control, inflated ego, false humility, superiority, power over others, false self worth, intelligence, vanity and I am sure many more. Pride is something I still struggle with, I am sure that is why The Lord has put it on my heart to write about pride today.
This will be sort of a confession for me:
I confess Lord I think I can control other people, and believe I know best for them,
Dear Lord only by Your strength I repent for the Pride in believing I can control all of those things. Please Lord forgive me. Lord I hand over to You my husbands fidelity, If he chooses to sin in adultery, porn etc...I trust in You to get me through it. Lord I give to You his work idolatry Lord please heal him in Your timing in Your way. Lord I give You his drinking. Lord I ask You to bring him to repentance Your way, not to assure I will never get hurt again, but so he can glorify You and be set free, I trust Lord in Your timing. Lord I give to You the salvation of my children, my husband, my friends and family. I am willing to be used by You to glorify You, but give me strength to not walk beyond Your will. Lord I trust in You to guide and lead me as a parent for the health of my children. I give You the health, safety, emotional,physical, and spiritual healing. Give me strength to not walk beyond Your will.
Lord please teach me the correct way to pray or if there is a correct way. Lord let me hear You in my prayers, instead of me talking and asking all the time. I know You love my children, my husband, my friends, my family more than me. You want their salvation, comfort, joy and peace even more than I do. Thank You Lord
I confess Lord of pride in taking care of others
Lord I am nothing without You, You are the one changing me from the inside out. I went 44 years trying to do it my way with out success. I trust in Your timing with others. I pray for their strength, and Your guidance. Lord give me strength to continue helping others , but always remember it is of Your strength, Your grace and bind my actions to Your Will. Thank You Jesus
Why is PRIDE a sin?
Praying is not bad, wanting the best for those I love is not bad, helping others is not bad, most of these things are not sin unless I examine the motives. Most of the time it is not about Pride, but I desire to not have any pride in my own doings. I desire the Lord to bind my thoughts, actions, beliefs, attitudes, behaviors, and choices to Him. It is all about Him.
Why is Pride a sin for me. I can become a slave to it. It takes the focus off the Lord and onto me and worldly ideas. I am not able to do the Lords work and glorify Him if what I do is self serving.
Why not have PRIDE in who I am, what I do, etc
The world is constantly telling us to have pride in our work, who we are, our heritage, our country, our looks, our attitudes, etc... So why so bad? Pride is self serving, Not serving to glorify the Lord. Yes we should do our best, strongest, etc if we are doing Gods work for God.

The Lord has disciplined me for my Pride in many ways, and to different extents. He has humbled me. While I am grateful, because he disciplines those he loves, it stings.
Dear Lord thank You for leading me through this by grace. Lord if You desire it let it glorify You, if any of these words are not from You let them fall away. Lord we know Pride is a way for the enemy to distance us from You, Your will, Your glory, Your Love. Lord lead us all to confess our sins, repent and seek Your forgiveness. Thank You Jesus Amen

- Make my husband not a work a holic
- I can control if my husband drinks
- I can make him repent for betrayal the way I think he should

- I can control my children's walk with You
- I can pray the "correct" way to change an outcome
- I can bring anyone to You on my own
- I can control my kids grades
