Good Morning
Wow can you believe that there are only two weeks left to go. Not to say that after this we stop spending time with God. I hope during this time we have been spending time with God and getting closer to him.
The bible tells us to delight ourselves in the Lord and he will give us the desires of our hearts. I used to think that this verse meant if I do what is right in God’s eyes he will give me what I desire. I have learned over time that God is not a genie in a bottle granting wishes.
When discussing this a few years ago in bible study it was revealed to me another way to look at this verse.
When we delight ourselves in the Lord he will place desires in our heart. How many of us felt that we knew what we wanted or how we would react if our marriage fell apart. I knew when I got married that it was till death, and I said the bible gives one escape clause and that would be death as well. I and my h used to joke about it all the time. (I didn’t know at the time he was already messing around). But look at me now, I am standing for my marriage and I love the baby that has come, I haven’t been able to spend time with him but God will allow that in due time.
God placed that desire in my heart. I was telling my pastor when it happened I went to the bible looking for a divorce but found a reason to stand. Only God could have changed me in that way. Everyone on the outside looks at me and is like she is hanging around, that is not her. Why doesn’t she just move on she is so strong etc. Same things a lot of you have said about me. I have never seen what everyone else sees in me, but God has allowed me to accept it.
These are the wonderful desires God has placed in my heart. He loves me so much he wants me to be happy so he changes my desires to his desires so that I am in line with what he has in store for me. Isn’t that amazing?
God has a wonder plan for all of us we just have to get in step with his plans and allow his desires to become our desires. How we do this? We delight ourselves in the Lord. We spend quality time with him, we follow his guidance, we obey his words, and when we mess up we go to him and ask for help.
