Day 18 Fast Confession

Romans 3:23
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

James 5:16
Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.

Proverbs 28:13
Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.

For most of my life I lived behind mask, concealing my innermost thoughts, feelings, desires, and fears. Part of me believed by denying the truth I could hide from it, the other part feared judgement, and being abandon. While I was hiding my sins, fears etc. I left a wide open door for the enemy to attack. For example by keeping the sin of anxiety and fear in the dark, I was inviting the enemy to attack and set up shop. He was able to work with the secrets, telling me this was a hopeless situation, I was crazy, if people knew how crazy I was they would not like me, they would think I was weak, it went as far as I would be committed to a mental institution and be powerless to get out. The devil does his work in the darkness. The secrets in the dark kept me in prison. The second I spoke the confession of anxiety the first layer of bondage was peeled off.

When we keep all of the secrets we feel alone, isolated, like whatever we are going through is some how special and different. We begin to believe we are the only one that has ever experienced, felt like, behaved like, tempted, by our situation. THAT IS THE LIE. While we are special our feelings, sins, beliefs are not. As soon as we speak them out loud we will find people that have gone through or are going through the exact same thing. The enemy loves when we feel isolated, and alone. The same struggles I have people have gone through for thousands of years. The bible is full of our exact same struggles. All sins in current society have been existance forever.

Lust pornography
Matthew 5:28
But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

Adultery
Exodus 20:14 “You shall not commit adultery.

Gambling
Proverbs 13:11
Wealth gained hastily will dwindle but whoever gathers little by little will increase it.
Rape
2 Samuel 13:12-14
She answered him, “No, my brother, do not violate me, for such a thing is not done in Israel; do not do this outrageous thing. As for me, where could I carry my shame? And as for you, you would be as one of the outrageous fools in Israel. Now therefore, please speak to the king, for he will not withhold me from you.†But he would not listen to her, and being stronger than she, he violated her and lay with her.

Debt
Proverbs 22:7
Just as the rich rule the poor, so the borrower is servant to the lender.

Rebellion
Proverbs 17:11
An evil man seeks only rebellion, and a cruel messenger will be sent against him

The list could go on forever. There is nothing new.

Some refer to this false Christian thing going on right now. The lie that good Christians do not suffer, if we read the bible enough or prayed enough we should be free to walk around on clouds. LIE I am going to list some statistics about preachers. I need to make it clear this is not to condemn people serving the Lord, the intention is to say we are not alone. The people we look up to, that pray constantly, and study the Word daily still struggle, are still tempted, still deal with bondage and sin. Jesus was tempted, hurt, condemned, made fun of, and killed and he is perfect.

45% of pastors have struggled with the bondage of pornography
50% of pastors marriages end in divorce
77% of pastors say their marriage is not good
75% of pastors felt unqualified to do their job (insecurity)
71% of pastors felt depressed due to job burn out
30% of pastors had, had an affair
The statistics are meant for general understanding, I believe stats. can be used and manipulated.

WE ARE NOT ALONE IN OUR STRUGGLES. PRAY FOR OUR PASTORS

This fad of pretending everything is fine and we have no troubles as Christians is a LIE, giving way for the devil to set up shop. There is a definite difference between faking and finding contentment from the Lord even in our struggles. There is also a difference between constant complaining about our struggles and confession. To me confession is authentic, complaining is part of the illusion keeping the real truth hidden. For example complaining about money or the bank, lacks responsibility and the opportunity for the Lord to free me.

Who and When to confess our sins:
That is between the Lord and me. I prayed for weeks before I started this blog. This is not for everyone. I had to wait for Gods perfect timing. I did not have the experience, wisdom, etc to publicly confess my sins a year ago. The enemy attacks every time I publish this blog. It is imperative to pray and ask for guidance. Confessing our sins could lead to condemnation, or judgement. I have 100% faith the Lord will lead each of us to the right person or circumstances to confess our sins. It could be anonymous on a Christian site like this, it could be our spouses, best friend, pastor , the Lord will lead us. We just need to do it, as soon as possible.

Dear Lord thank You for Your strength to confess the sins You have revealed to me, Lord I pray You dig deep in me and continue to reveal unrepentant sin in me. Lord continue to give me Your strength to confess and ask for prayer. Thank You Jesus Amen
