Day 13

Good morning all, as I sit here this morning I tink to my day yesterday. Some things are trails from God to see if our resolve is what it should be when we sat something. So I definitely had to exercise self-control in that area, but in all other areas I failed.

So I am thinking how I get better at this? I remember one time when I told my cousin that I was praying for patience he told me be careful because the only way to get patience is for God to test your patience. So that has me thinking. The only way for us to learn to zip our lips and unconditionally love our spouses is for that to be tested.

We will be put to the test time and time again to see if we are really walking in the way we are talking. I don’t know about some of you but that scares me. That means it will get worse before it gets better. Am I ready to handle that?

Then I remember that I can do all things through Christ. Wow it will get harder along the way but these trial will strengthen me and grow me Paul says it best:

Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. (Jam 1:2–4)

This situation is maturing us as Christians to do Gods work. To serve his kingdom. And it will be really hard but we know what the reward is, and it is not a restored marriage, it is eternal life. So each trial brings us to be more God like and closer to Jesus. We can’t mature if we don’t be tested to stretch our limits.
I found this on a website and it real says it best
To bring us to maturity
The final reason why God will allow Satan to attack us is to test our faith in him and to bring us to maturity. As we saw earlier, the testing of our faith develops perseverance, and perseverance must finish its work in us so we can be mature and complete, not lacking anything (Jam 1:3–4).
Job couldn't understand why God had allowed such tragedy to befall him. Sometimes it's easier to endure suffering if we can see a reason for it. We can see the reason for his suffering, but he couldn't, and he was baffled and confused. All he could do was to cling to his faith, which the sustaining power of the Spirit enabled him to do (2Ch 16:9a).
There are many notable verses in the Book of Job. In Job 6:10 he said that his joy in unrelenting pain was that he had not denied the words of the Holy One. Despite intense physical and emotional suffering Job kept his faith. And in Job 19:25–27 he said:
'I know that my redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand upon the earth. And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God; I myself will see him with my own eyes—I, and not another. How my heart yearns within me!'
That is a wonderful statement of faith. Job was looking forward to meeting his Saviour at the resurrection of the righteous (Act 24:15). And he was going to meet someone who would endure even more suffering than himself.

So endure to the end have a great day.

Then in your journal:

. Write any prayer you have for Today. Anything you need for today. No matter how small.

Also write anything you are thankful for today and some praises to God. For he is worthy and deserves it. Amen.

If you still have time or at some point today. Find a verse or scripture text reading. Anything out of the bible and read and meditate on it for a few minutes, then write a little bit about what you got from it, how it made you feel. Anything.
(We will do these every day).
