Wow as I came to write I received an email and the first line was exactly what I was going to write about today. Tank about confirmation
As I read so many posts and as I am feeling the same way as many of us it came to me that no one, NO ONE, can be at war and never rest. I believe that part of this battle is to rest in the Lord. Jesus told us in Matthew 11:28-29 “…Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.â€
We need to rest. God gave the Jews rest, Jesus rested, and we all need to rest. We need time to reflect and just rest in God’s presence. Sometimes we just need to say God I am tired it is yours, we have to come to an end of ourselves. We need to rejuvenate ourselves. We need to just say I need some alone time just you and me God. Time when I can just tell you father I am tired, where I don’t need to pray for anything because you already know what I need. Father I just need to soak you up. Just be still and know you have it all covered. REST.
There are many verses in the bible about REST, and there are many more about being STILL. Let us all take some time and rest; and yes the enemy will use this and start to play on our minds and say we are giving up, but in actually we are just tired.
Tired of not seeing anything, tired of the thoughts plaguing our minds, tired of trying to see or speak to our spouses, tired of the chaos around us, We are just tired and need rest.
Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices. Psalm 37:7 ESV
For I will satisfy the weary soul, and every languishing soul I will replenish.†Jeremiah 31:25
That times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that he may send the Christ appointed for you, Jesus, whom heaven must receive until the time for restoring all the things about which God spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets long ago. Acts 3:20-21
So let us just take some time and rest in the Lord. Resting doesn’t mean we are giving up no matter what the enemy may say to you, resting is just remembering the promises of God and knowing that he doesn’t change his mind. He has given us a promise and right now we need to rest in our knowledge of who God is.
So rest today and rejuvenate your selves. EVERY ONE. NO ONE CAN FIGHT WITH OUT REST.
