Daughter’s marriage

We have heard your heart cry for your daughter's marriage and we join with you in seeking God's divine intervention together in Jesus' name. We know how heavy it is as a parent to watch your child walk through marital difficulty and to feel helpless, but we serve a God who is able to restore and heal what seems broken.

We believe with you that marriage is a sacred covenant ordained by God as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman. Scripture teaches us in Mark 10:9 What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate, and in Matthew 19:6 So that they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, don't let man tear apart. God's perfect will is for unity, faithfulness and enduring love in marriage, and He hates the pain and division that divorce brings as it says in Malachi 2:16. We strongly affirm God's design for marriage and we pray that your daughter and her husband would experience His restoring power and choose to honor their vows before Him.

We want to gently share that you did not mention the name of Jesus in your request, and we want to remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and receive help in our time of need. Jesus said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And in Acts 4:12 There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is by believing in Jesus Christ, confessing Him as Lord and believing God raised Him from the dead as in Romans 10:9, that we are saved and can boldly bring our requests to God. We pray that your daughter, her husband, and your whole family know this hope and call upon His name.

We lift them up now together in prayer. Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus and thank You for the covenant of marriage You created. We lift up this daughter and her husband to You and ask for Your divine intervention in their home. Where there is hurt, bring healing, where there is distance, bring reconciliation, where there is anger or bitterness, bring forgiveness and softened hearts. Help them to love each other as You have loved us, with a love that is patient and kind as described in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7. Teach them to walk with all lowliness and humility, with patience, bearing with one another in love, being eager to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace as You call us to in Ephesians 4:2-3. Guard their marriage from temptation and from any form of unfaithfulness or selfishness, and help them to remain faithful to one another and to You. Lord, give them wisdom to communicate with grace, to speak truth in love, and to seek godly counsel and prayer together. If there has been sin between them, bring conviction and repentance and the power to forgive as You have forgiven us in Colossians 3:13.

We also pray for you as a parent, that God would give you peace that surpasses all understanding as you entrust them to Him, for in Philippians 4:6-7 we are told In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. We encourage you to continue to pray without ceasing for them, to speak words of encouragement and not condemnation over their marriage, and to encourage them to seek the Lord together and to seek wise counsel from their pastor or mature believers who uphold biblical marriage. God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think, and nothing is impossible for Him. We trust Him to work in their hearts and to restore what the enemy has sought to divide, for Your glory.

We pray all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, our only hope and Savior, Amen.

Thank you for trusting us with your daughter and her marriage. We know how heavy it is to watch someone you love so much walk through a painful season and feel you cannot fix it for them. Wanting divine intervention for them is a loving and right thing to ask.

We are standing with you in prayer for both of them, and for you as you love them through this. One of the most supportive things a parent can do in this kind of strain is to stay a steady, prayerful presence without feeling you have to carry the whole weight or have all the answers. As you feel it is welcome, you might gently ask your daughter how she would most feel supported right now, and whether she and her husband would be open to talking with a trusted pastor or Christian counselor together. Even just knowing you are consistently praying and available can be a comfort while God works in their hearts.

We do not know all that they are facing, but God does, and He hears your prayers for them.

Father, we lift this daughter and her husband to You. You know their hurts, their needs, and what has brought them to this place. Draw near to each of them, give them wisdom, soft hearts toward You and toward each other, and help for the next steps. Give their mom peace as she loves them and trusts You with what she cannot control. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen.

We join you in bringing your daughter and her marriage before the throne of grace, and we thank you for inviting us to pray.

We ask the Lord for divine intervention in this home, for there is no attribute more comforting to His children than divine sovereignty, and we may trace His hand in all things and admire His wisdom and love. We pray that the divine presence, which is the one hope of the people of God, would rest upon this husband and wife, for where He comes difficulties dissolve and hearts are softened. Immutable love is that divine hammer which breaks the rock in pieces, and though hearts may have grown hard through sin and sorrow, almighty love can soften them.

As with Peter, who was down but was soon up again by the gracious look of Christ and by His prevailing intercession, so we pray for restoration here. The Lord Jesus has prayed for His own that their faith fail not, and that prayer is already presented for all who must pass through deep waters. We ask that divine grace, which is not a noisy thing but is known to the receiver, would restore joy and peace and love and zeal where there has been decay, and would keep faith as the root from which all other graces grow.

We pray that this marriage would be strengthened according to the divine idea of marriage, a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, not of birth but of choice, cemented by mutual love, in which the two become one. We ask that the Lord would make this husband and wife truly one in heart and purpose, bearing with one another in holy patience and love, and that Christ Himself would be the center of their union, for salvation is through Jesus Christ alone and His Spirit must work all our works in us.

We ask the Lord to entrust to them work for one another's good, that in being restored they may also be made the means of strengthening one another. May the Lord in His mercy grant deliverance from this flood of trouble, not always by miracle but by wonder working providence, and may He keep their feet from falling. We leave this dear family in the hands of Him whose grace never makes the heart domineering but makes it brave and tender, and we trust His unchangeable love to do what only He can do. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We join you in prayer for your daughter and her husband and thank you for bringing this need before the Lord. We understand your desire for divine intervention, and we bring this marriage before God who ordained marriage as a bond and who calls husband and wife to live together in holiness and peace.

Scripture teaches to follow peace with all men and holiness, and that marriage is honorable and pure. Marriage itself preserves the holiness that comes through faith, as husband and wife live faithfully with one another and do not permit anything to defile that union. It is a covenant of one man and one woman for life, not to be taken lightly, and it is meant to be lived with moderation, chasteness, gentleness and order.

Our prayer for them is that Christ would be invited and welcomed into their home above all else. When He is present, there is grace to forgive, to speak with kindness, to turn from what harms the marriage, and to cling to one another in love.

Let us pray together. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, we lift up this daughter and her husband to You. You alone are the source of salvation and of every good gift. We ask You to intervene in this marriage with Your mercy and power. Grant to them repentance where it is needed, forgiveness where there has been hurt, and a renewed desire to honor You in their union. Help them to live with fidelity to one another, to forsake all others, and to keep their marriage bed pure. Teach them to follow peace and holiness, to be gentle and modest and steadfast, and to bear with one another in love. Guard them from influences that would pull them apart and draw them instead to Your Word and to prayer. Restore what has been broken, strengthen what remains, and make their marriage a testimony of Your faithfulness. Give wisdom and comfort to their family as they support them in prayer. We ask this in the hope of Your grace, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

We will continue to remember them in prayer. We encourage you to keep praying, to encourage them to seek the Lord together, to live faithfully within the covenant they have made, and to seek counsel from faithful believers who will point them to Christ and to His Word.
