Daughter with ### man

We understand your concern for your daughter, and we join you in lifting her up before the Lord. First, we must address something critical: the request you’ve shared does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, through whom we have access to the Father. The Bible is clear that there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved or through which our prayers are heard. *"Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me’* (John 14:6, WEB). *"There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB). We encourage you to always approach God in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that our prayers are effective.

Now, let us speak to the situation with your daughter. The fact that she was involved with this man before her divorce was finalized is deeply troubling. The Bible is clear that marriage is a lifelong covenant before God, and divorce is only permissible in cases of sexual immorality (Matthew 19:9). If your daughter was separated but not yet divorced, her relationship with this man was adulterous, as she was still bound to her husband in God’s eyes. *"Whoever divorces his wife, and marries another, commits adultery. Whoever marries her who is divorced from a husband commits adultery"* (Luke 16:18, WEB). Adultery is a sin against God, and it brings consequences—not just to the individuals involved but to their families and future relationships. We urge your daughter to repent of this sin and seek God’s forgiveness and cleansing. *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"* (1 John 1:9, WEB).

Additionally, we must address the fact that this man has children from a previous relationship. While children are a blessing from the Lord, entering into a relationship with a man who is not free in the eyes of God—whether due to an unbiblical divorce or unresolved sin—is not wise. The Bible warns us not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers or those who do not honor God’s design for marriage and family (2 Corinthians 6:14). If this man is not a born-again believer who is walking in obedience to Christ, he is not the right choice for your daughter, no matter how much she may care for him or his children. A godly marriage must be built on a foundation of faith in Jesus Christ, with both partners committed to honoring God in every area of their lives.

We also want to emphasize that your daughter should not be seeking a "man" but a *husband*—a godly, Christ-centered man who will lead her and any future family in the ways of the Lord. The goal of any romantic relationship should be marriage, and that marriage should reflect the sacred covenant God intended it to be. Courtship should be entered into prayerfully, with the intention of glorifying God and building a Christ-centered home. Anything less than this is settling for less than God’s best.

Let us pray together for your daughter:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this daughter who is in need of Your guidance, conviction, and redemption. Lord, we ask that You open her eyes to any sin in her life, particularly the sin of adultery if she was involved with this man before her divorce was finalized. Convict her heart, Lord, and lead her to true repentance. Cleanse her from all unrighteousness and restore her to a right relationship with You.

Father, we pray that You would break any ungodly soul ties between her and this man. If this relationship is not of You—if it is built on sin, convenience, or emotional attachment rather than Your will—we ask that You would sever it completely. Do not let her be deceived by her own heart or by the enemy’s lies. Give her the strength to walk away from anything that does not align with Your Word.

Lord, we ask that You would guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Surround her with godly counsel—people who will speak Your truth into her life and hold her accountable. If she is not already walking closely with You, draw her back to Yourself. Let her find her identity and fulfillment in You alone, not in a relationship with a man.

Father, we pray that You would prepare her for a godly husband—a man after Your own heart who will love her as Christ loves the church. Give her patience to wait for Your best, and do not let her settle for anything less than Your perfect will. If she is not yet married, we pray that You would sanctify her and prepare her for marriage, teaching her to honor You in her body and in her relationships.

We also lift up this man and his children. Lord, if he does not know You, we pray that You would save him and bring him into a relationship with Jesus Christ. Soften his heart to Your truth, and let him turn away from any sin that would hinder Your blessing in his life. Provide for his children, Lord, and let them grow up to know and love You.

Finally, Father, we ask that You would give this mother wisdom as she navigates this situation. Show her how to speak truth in love to her daughter, and give her the words to say that will point her daughter back to You. Let her be an example of godly strength and faith, trusting in You even when the path is difficult.

We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to continue praying for your daughter and to speak God’s truth into her life with love and boldness. Remind her that God’s ways are higher than our ways, and His plans for her are good—even if they require surrender and obedience. If she is not walking with the Lord, urge her to repent and turn to Jesus Christ for salvation and direction. The best thing you can do for her is to point her to the cross, where true freedom and healing are found.

Stay steadfast in prayer, and trust that God is working even when you cannot see it. *"The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but he is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance"* (2 Peter 3:9, WEB). Keep believing for her restoration and for God’s perfect will to be done in her life.

We're here with you, sister, standing in the gap for your daughter. We've been where you are, and we know the worry and heartache that comes with seeing our loved ones in harmful situations. Let's lift her up together, shall we?

First, let's remind ourselves of the power in Jesus' name. He said, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). So, let's approach the throne of grace with confidence, knowing that we have access to the Father through Jesus Christ our Lord (Ephesians 2:18).

Now, let's talk about your daughter. It's clear that she's been hurt, and we need to pray for her healing. But we also need to address the sin in her life. If she was involved with this man before her divorce was final, she was living in adultery. That's a hard truth to swallow, but it's the truth nonetheless. We need to pray for her to see this sin for what it is and to repent, turning away from it and towards Jesus.

This man she's been seeing has children from a previous relationship. While we should always love and pray for them, we need to be wise about the company we keep. As 2 Corinthians 6:14 tells us, we shouldn't be unequally yoked with unbelievers. We need to pray that your daughter would have discernment and wisdom in this area, that she wouldn't be swayed by emotion or the needs of these children, but would seek God's will above all else.

We also need to pray that your daughter would have a godly perspective on relationships. She shouldn't be looking for just any man, but a godly husband - a man after God's own heart who will lead her and any future family in the ways of the Lord. We need to pray that she would wait for God's best, not settling for anything less.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today, laying our daughter at Your feet. Lord, open her eyes to see the sin in her life, particularly the sin of adultery. Convict her heart, Lord, and lead her to true repentance. Cleanse her from all unrighteousness and restore her to a right relationship with You.

Father, break any ungodly soul ties between her and this man. Give her the strength to walk away from anything that doesn't align with Your Word. Guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Surround her with godly counsel, people who will speak Your truth into her life and hold her accountable.

Lord, prepare her for a godly husband - a man after Your own heart who will love her as Christ loves the church. Give her patience to wait for Your best, and do not let her settle for anything less than Your perfect will.

We also lift up this man and his children, Lord. If he doesn't know You, save him and bring him into a relationship with Jesus Christ. Soften his heart to Your truth, and let him turn away from any sin that would hinder Your blessing in his life. Provide for his children, Lord, and let them grow up to know and love You.

Finally, Father, give this mother wisdom as she navigates this situation. Show her how to speak truth in love to her daughter, and give her the words to say that will point her daughter back to You. Let her be an example of godly strength and faith, trusting in You even when the path is difficult.

In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen."

Let's keep praying, sister. Let's keep believing for her restoration and for God's perfect will to be done in her life. Trust that God is working, even when we can't see it. He's not slow; He's patient, not wanting anyone to perish but everyone to come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). Keep pointing her to the cross, where true freedom and healing are found.
