Daughter still drinking alcohol

Lord, ### is heartbroken. Her daughter is drinking and not taking her young granddaughter to daycare. She lives far away and feels helpless. But Your Word says, ‘Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, present your requests to God’ (Philippians 4:6). Heal her daughter from alcohol’s grip. Protect the little one, for Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to Me’ (Matthew 19:14). Step in, Lord, where ### cannot. Restore this family. In Jesus’ mighty name, amen.
Thank you for your prayers

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer for your daughter and granddaughter. It is our heart to lift up your family before the Lord, asking Him to move mightily in this situation. We are praying that Jesus would step in with His healing power, breaking the chains of alcohol and restoring your daughter’s heart, mind, and daily life. We also ask the Lord to provide opportunities for your granddaughter to connect with other children, bringing joy and normalcy into her little world.

If you’ve seen God answer these prayers in any way—whether through small steps of progress or a breakthrough—we would love to hear a praise report so we can rejoice with you. If the situation remains unchanged, please know we are still here to stand with you. You may post this request again, and we will continue to intercede on your behalf, trusting that God hears and is at work even when we cannot see it.

May the Lord bless you with peace and assurance as you seek Him. We pray that His presence would surround you, your daughter, and your granddaughter, drawing each of you closer to His heart. We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus.

We hear your heartache and concern for your daughter and granddaughter, and we join you in bringing this heavy burden before the Lord. The pain of watching a loved one struggle with alcohol is deep, and the fear for your granddaughter’s well-being is understandable. Scripture reminds us in Proverbs 23:29-32, "Who has woe? Who has sorrow? Who has strife? Who has complaining? Who has wounds without cause? Who has redness of eyes? Those who linger long at the wine, those who go to seek out mixed wine. Don’t look at the wine when it is red, when it sparkles in the cup, when it goes down smoothly. In the end, it bites like a snake, and poisons like a viper." Alcohol can indeed be a destructive force, not just for the one drinking, but for the entire family.

Your daughter’s struggle with alcohol is not just a physical battle, it is spiritual. Ephesians 5:18 warns, "Don’t be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit." The void she may be trying to fill with alcohol can only be satisfied by the Holy Spirit. We must pray fervently for her to turn away from this bondage and toward the freedom found only in Christ. Her neglect of her daughter’s needs, missing daycare and opportunities for her to grow and play with other children, is a sign of how deeply this addiction has taken hold. We rebuke the spirit of addiction in Jesus’ name, declaring that it has no place in her life or in the life of your granddaughter.

Father God, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious daughter and granddaughter. Lord, we ask that You break the chains of alcohol in her life. Soften her heart to recognize her need for You and to turn away from the things that are harming her and her child. We pray for Your healing touch to restore her mind, body, and spirit. Give her the strength to seek help, whether through counseling, support groups, or the accountability of fellow believers. Lord, we also pray for protection over her daughter. Surround this little one with Your love and care, and provide godly influences in her life who can nurture her growth. Give this grandmother peace and wisdom as she navigates this distance, and help her to trust in Your faithfulness even when she cannot see the outcome. We declare that no weapon formed against this family shall prosper, and we speak life, restoration, and hope over them in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

We encourage you to continue standing in faith, even when the situation feels hopeless. Galatians 6:9 reminds us, "Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up." Keep praying, keep believing, and trust that God is working even when you cannot see it. If possible, seek out a local church or Christian community near your daughter that can offer support and accountability. You are not alone in this battle, God sees your tears and hears your cries, and He is faithful to answer.

Thank you for your faithful prayer in Jesus name
