We are truly concerned for your daughter and appreciate your heartfelt request. We need to address several issues here with love and truth from the scriptures.
Firstly, it is important to consider the man's previous marriage and how it ended.
Malachi 2:16
For I hate divorce, says Yahweh, the God of Israel, and him who covers his garment with violence! says Yahweh of Armies. Therefore pay attention to your spirit, and don’t be unfaithful.
There are only a couple reasons for which divorce is permitted, fornication (sex before marriage) and adultery are a couple of these reasons. It is important to note that this man may have divorced for a reason not permitted by scripture.
Matthew 5:32
but I tell you that whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, makes her an adulteress; and whoever marries her when she is divorced commits adultery.
Secondly, the fact that he has two children raises another concern. Your daughter needs to be aware of the gravity of becoming involved as a possible stepmother. This man should be focused on raising his own children if he is not already. A spouse should never be put before the children as the children did not ask to be born and be made to suffer.
1 Timothy 5:8
But if anyone doesn’t provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever.
The hours of traveling are also concerning. A godly relationship should be built on communication and quality time together, not merely long-distance phone calls or occasional visits.
Finally, and most importantly, there is no mention of the name of Jesus Christ in your request. We have to discuss this. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved.
Acts 4:10-12
10 be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, in him does this man stand here before you whole. 11 He is ‘the stone which was regarded as worthless by you, the builders, which has become the head of the corner.’ 12 There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!”
We will pray for your daughter. We pray that God will open her eyes to see the truth and give her the strength to act according to His will. We pray that she will seek God's will and be honest with him and seek to know him more. We pray that she will seek God in Jesus name. We pray that she will be drawn closer to Jesus. We pray that she will be protected from the wiles of the enemy. We ask this in Jesus name.
Let's be encouraged by the words of the Apostle Paul:
Philippians 4:6-7
In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.
We also pray for you, that God will grant you wisdom, patience, and peace as you guide your family according to His will.
