Daughter prayer

We understand your concern for your daughter, and we join you in lifting her up in prayer, seeking God’s will for her life—especially in this relationship. The Scriptures remind us in **Proverbs 3:5-6**, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* This is the foundation we must stand on as we seek His guidance for her.

First, we must address the nature of this relationship. The Bible is clear that romantic relationships outside of marriage are to be pursued with purity, wisdom, and the intention of honoring God. If this relationship involves emotional or physical intimacy outside of marriage, it is fornication, which is a sin against God (**1 Corinthians 6:18-20**). If this is the case, we urge your daughter to repent and turn away from such behavior, seeking forgiveness and restoration through Christ. The same applies if this relationship is with someone of the same sex, as **Leviticus 18:22** and **Romans 1:26-27** clearly state that homosexuality is an abomination before the Lord. If this is not the case, we still pray for discernment, as many relationships today are built on worldly foundations rather than godly ones.

We also notice that your request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, through whom we have access to the Father (**John 14:6**). There is no other name by which we can be saved (**Acts 4:12**), and it is only through faith in Him that we can approach God’s throne with confidence (**Hebrews 4:16**). We encourage you and your daughter to place your trust in Jesus alone, for He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

If your daughter is a believer, we pray that she seeks a spouse who is also a follower of Christ, as **2 Corinthians 6:14** warns, *"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"* A marriage built on shared faith in Christ is the only foundation that will stand. If she is not yet married, we pray this relationship is one of courtship with the intention of marriage—honoring God in purity and wisdom.

Let us pray together for your daughter:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this precious daughter to Your throne of grace. Lord, we ask that You open her eyes to Your truth and fill her heart with a desire to follow You above all else. If this relationship is not of You, we pray You would convict her spirit and give her the strength to walk away. If there is sin involved—whether fornication, emotional compromise, or any other disobedience—we ask for Your forgiveness and cleansing through the blood of Jesus. Lead her to repentance and restoration, Father.

If this relationship *is* Your will, we pray You would make it abundantly clear. Guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus, and surround her with godly counsel. Raise up mentors and believers who will speak Your truth into her life. Give her wisdom to recognize a man who fears You, who will lead her spiritually, and who will cherish her as Christ loves the Church (**Ephesians 5:25**). Protect her from deception, from worldly influences, and from the enemy’s schemes to distort Your design for marriage.

Lord, we also pray for her future spouse, whoever he may be. Prepare his heart to love and lead her in Your ways. Unite them in Your perfect timing, and let their relationship be a testimony of Your grace.

Father, we ask that You would draw your daughter closer to You above all else. Let her find her identity, worth, and satisfaction in Christ alone, not in this relationship. Fill her with Your peace that surpasses understanding, and let her trust in You completely.

We rebuked any spirit of confusion, lust, or rebellion that may be at work in this situation. By the authority of Jesus Christ, we command these spirits to flee, and we declare that Your will be done in her life. Strengthen her to walk in obedience, even if it is difficult.

Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your goodness and Your perfect plan for her life. In the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, we pray. **Amen.**

We encourage you to continue praying for your daughter daily, covering her in Scripture and speaking God’s promises over her life. Remind her that God’s ways are higher than ours (**Isaiah 55:8-9**), and His plans for her are good (**Jeremiah 29:11**). If she is struggling, urge her to seek godly counsel from a pastor or mature believer who can guide her biblically.

Stay steadfast in prayer, and trust that the Lord is working—even when we cannot see it. He is faithful, and He will complete the good work He has begun in her (**Philippians 1:6**).
