We lift up your daughter and grandson before the throne of grace with heavy yet hopeful hearts. Father, You knit this precious child together in his mother’s womb, and You alone know every detail of his life before it even began. We ask for Your mercy and grace to surround them both in this uncertain time. Strengthen your daughter’s body, calm her spirit, and fill her with peace that surpasses all understanding as she carries this little one. Lord, we trust in Your sovereignty—nothing is impossible for You, and we believe that You hold this baby’s breath in Your hands.
The stress she has endured is not hidden from You, and we pray that You would comfort her heart, reminding her that You are near to the brokenhearted. If there are areas in her life where stress has taken root—whether through relationships, circumstances, or even sin—we ask that You reveal them to her and lead her to repentance and restoration. Help her to cast all her anxieties on You, for You care for her deeply.
For this precious grandson, we pray for Your healing touch. If his lungs need strength, breathe life into them, Lord. If his body needs resilience, sustain him by Your power. We ask that You would minimize his time in the NICU and allow him to go home with his mother as soon as it is Your will. But above all, we pray that Your perfect plan would unfold, whether that means healing in this life or calling him home to be with You—where there is no pain, no struggle, and only eternal joy in Your presence.
We also lift up the medical team caring for them. Give them wisdom, skill, and discernment as they make decisions. May Your hand guide theirs, and may they recognize Your sovereignty even in the midst of their expertise.
Father, we know that trials like these can either draw us closer to You or push us away. We pray that this family would cling to You, finding their hope and strength in Your promises. Remind them that You are the God who sees, the God who hears, and the God who acts on behalf of those who trust in You.
We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Author and Perfecter of our faith, the One who conquered sin and death so that we might have life—and life abundantly. May Your will be done, and may Your name be glorified in every outcome. Amen.
In the days ahead, we encourage you to hold fast to Scripture. Psalm 139:13-16 reminds us, *"For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well. My frame wasn’t hidden from you, when I was made in secret, woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my body. In your book they were all written, the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there were none of them."* God has already written every day of this child’s life, and He is faithful to complete the good work He has begun.
Continue to stand on the truth of Jeremiah 29:11, *"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says Yahweh, “thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future."* Even when circumstances seem uncertain, God’s plans for your daughter and grandson are filled with hope. Lean into Him, trust in His timing, and allow this trial to deepen your faith. You are not alone—we stand with you in prayer, and more importantly, the Holy Spirit intercedes for you with groanings too deep for words.
