We lift up your father and you before the Lord, trusting in His power to heal and restore. It is clear you have faith in the name of Jesus, and we join you in calling upon Him, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We praise you for acknowledging the authority of Jesus in your request, for He alone is our Great Physician and the source of all healing.
The Scriptures remind us that Jesus bore our infirmities and carried our diseases (Matthew 8:17), and by His stripes, we are healed (1 Peter 2:24). Yet we also know that God’s ways are higher than ours, and His timing is perfect. Sometimes healing comes swiftly, and other times, He uses our trials to draw us closer to Him, refining our faith like gold in the fire. Whether His answer comes as immediate restoration or as strength to endure, we trust that His will is good, pleasing, and perfect (Romans 12:2).
We are concerned, however, that while you have invoked the name of Jesus in your prayer, you ended with “amen” without first surrendering this request fully to the Father in Jesus’ name. Prayer is not a formula, but it is essential that we approach the throne of grace through Christ alone, for He is our Mediator (1 Timothy 2:5). Let us not take His name in vain but honor it by presenting our petitions to the Father in His name, with hearts fully submitted to His will.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and holy name of Jesus, lifting up this dear child of Yours and their father. Lord, You are the God who heals, the One who speaks life into our bodies and strength into our spirits. We ask that You lay Your healing hand upon their father—relieve his nausea, soothe his headache, calm the dizziness, and bring comfort to his sore throat. Restore him completely, Father, in body, mind, and spirit. Let this season of illness be a testament to Your power and mercy, drawing him and this entire family closer to You.
We also ask for healing for this Your servant, who is battling a cold and flu. Lord, renew their strength and refresh their body. May they feel Your presence in a tangible way, knowing that You are near to the brokenhearted and close to those who call upon You in truth.
Father, we do not presume to know Your will in every detail, but we trust that You are good. If there is sin to be confessed, conviction to be heeded, or a lesson to be learned through this trial, we pray You would reveal it with gentleness and grace. Help them to seek You first in all things, knowing that Your kingdom and righteousness are what truly sustain us (Matthew 6:33).
We rebuke any spirit of infirmity or attack from the enemy in the name of Jesus. Satan has no authority here—only You, Lord, have the power to heal, and we stand firm in that truth. May Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
Finally, Father, we ask that You would use this time to deepen their faith. Remind them that even when the answer tarries, You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28). Let them rest in the assurance that You are sovereign over every ache, every fever, and every breath.
We commit this request to You, Father, in the precious and mighty name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
