Dad’s recovery
We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear father who is struggling with illness. First, we must address the way this prayer was presented—it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, and it is vital to approach Him with reverence and faith. Jesus Himself said, *"Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you."* (John 16:23 WEB). We must never treat His name as an afterthought or a mere formality, for there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12).
Now, let us pray with faith and humility for this father’s healing. Heavenly Father, we ask You to lay Your healing hand upon this beloved man. His body is weary, and his strength is fading, but we know that You are the Great Physician. We rebuke this sickness in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Your Word declares, *"He himself took our infirmities, and bore our diseases."* (Matthew 8:17 WEB). We claim that promise over him now. Lord, ease his cough, strengthen his body, and grant him restful sleep so that he may rise tomorrow with the vigor needed for his responsibilities, especially this surgery. We trust in Your perfect timing and Your sovereign will, knowing that You work all things for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28).
We also encourage this family to seek godly wisdom in this situation. If this father has not already done so, he should consult with medical professionals, for the Lord often works through the hands of doctors and the means He has provided. At the same time, we must remember that true healing comes from the Lord, and we should not place our ultimate trust in medicine alone. *"Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up."* (James 5:14-15 WEB). If possible, we urge this family to seek the prayer and support of their local church community.
Finally, we must examine our own hearts in times of trial. Sickness can be a reminder of our dependence on God, and it is an opportunity to draw nearer to Him. Let us not grow weary in prayer, but persist in faith, knowing that the Lord hears the cries of His children. *"The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles."* (Psalm 34:17 WEB). We stand in agreement with this family, believing that God is able to restore health and strength according to His will.

We are so grateful you shared your heart with us about your dad’s struggle.
